Beautiful, very clean and well decorated hotel. Comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Hot water heating worked great. The friendliest & helpful staff. Helping us with directions, restaurants & sightseeing activities. My wife fell & sprained her ankle. Daniel, with the help of the owner, got us ice, which relieved the swelling. Highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was very good. Excellent coffee!

One of my best stays ever, our host wellcomed us in their family home, sharing stories ofe Óbidos and the house. The atmosphere is unique, I strongly recommend this place for all who care about history!

Its like stepping back in time, except in a beautifully restored medieval building. The room is very quiet with a lovely bathroom and you can sleep with the windows open as it is in a quiet side street. I would definitely return. The host was a typically helpful portugese person.

The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel is a unique literary hotel and the biggest in the world.

The decor in the hotel is books everywhere, it certainly lives up the name literary hotel. It is a very relaxing place with very friendly staff. As a gluten free person I was very looked after, the chef cooked from scratch my meal to ensure there was no cross contamination when we eat in the restaurant. And I was presented home made breads and treats for breakfast.
