Everything was very stylish and very clean.
All staff was pleasant and helped with every need.
We even managed to have an evening meal next door and the food was fantastic!

What a relaxing and enjoyable short break at the Beresford Arms! We cannot praise this amazing accommodation and incredible dining experience highly enough. Even more impressive was the genuine warm welcome received from Josh and all his team.
We stayed in the newly completed ‘Stables Suite’, which comprised of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge and dining area with kitchenette, and bi-fold doors leading out onto a beautiful private garden. It was finished to an extremely high standard and was immaculately clean, with very comfortable beds, smart TVs, and lovely extra touches such as a coffee machine with pods provided.
We had breakfast and our evening meals in the award-winning pub restaurant. Literally every single dish we had was cooked to absolute perfection. Breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice, and was served piping hot. The full Northumbrian breakfast is a must!
Our evening meals were full of incredible flavours, created using quality produce, and were of an exceptional standard. We took advantage of the Wednesday steak night which offered great value. The onion rings were to die for!
Thank you for such an incredible stay in your charming and friendly village pub. We loved every minute and hope to return.

Fabulous rural location within a few minutes drive of the city centre. Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff, enjoyable breakfast served in great environment. I have already booked for two more stays this time for leisure rather than business.

No hot water in bathroom. No where to put toiletries. Loose toilet. poor towels. No hair dryer.
No breakfast options even though it calls itself a bed and breakfast.
The bed was low and did not look promising but was OK.
The Badger around the corner was a great little pub for evening meals.

Lovely little village.
Lovely little village. The Diamond is right in the centre, next to the Church and the river. It could not be a nicer setting. The pub does not do evening meals but there are several good places to eat in the village. I ate at The Blackbird, a 17th century former abbots house round the corner from the Diamond.

Absolutely fantastic stay from arriving to leaving..
Couldn't have been happier.
Excellent service by the manager? who showed us to our room, had a giggle with us at the bar and was an all-round nice guy.
Evening meal was superb - although the steak was slightly over done for us but still delicious and plenty of it.
Our waitress did let us down a bit by bringing our water and the wine list and then not coming back to take our order - we had to call for back up -
Alex arrived and immediately took over and saved the day (and review)..
Exceptional customer service.. she could not have done anymore.
We will be back!
It's just a pity there are no (bar facilities/chill area) if you are a guest to enjoy a drink after your meal or when you arrive at the hotel.

Lovely village with a range of shops and eating places and interesting historical heritage. Very friendly local people only too willing to help/chat. Very flat so probably good for disabled or infirm visitors.
