Momojiya Annex er staðsett meðfram Kiyotakigawa-ánni og býður upp á hefðbundin herbergi með einkabaði undir berum himni og útsýni yfir skóginn. If you wanna try a traditional Ryokan hotel, you gotta try it. Though it's far away from the downtown Kyoto, you can reserve free shuttle bus in advance with the hotel. The meals are delicious but what actually makes me impressive is: the fireflies. When the lights are off, you just realize there are thousands of them in the tree. It is absolutely beautiful!

Momojiya of Takao er hljóðlát hefðbundin japönsk gistikrá við Kiyotakigawa-ána. If you're looking for a good ryokan experience I think this one would be a good choice. My group used the shuttle service to get to and out of the ryokan without any issues. At the ryokan itself, the staff was very attentive, friendly and nice and did their best to communicate with us using English. I really cannot overstate how great they were. Our shabu-shabu dinner as well as the breakfast was very good, I think the portions size was also quite great. Rooms were nice, had a great view, but I will say the bath in the japanese room might need some renovation work. Speaking of baths, if you have to ability to book the private bath, I highly recommend to do so. The building itself is rather old but it doesn't mean it isn't charming in a specific.way. Overall we stayed only one night but were fully relaxed and recharged before our next trip.

Ryokan Yamazaki er í 10 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Kinkaku-ji-hofinu og býður upp á heitt almenningsbað, morgunverð og hefðbundinn kvöldverð gegn aukagjaldi. Great decision to stay here. Our room was overlooking the gorge and wooded area behind the property, and I went to sleep every night hearing nothing but the babbling brook outside our window. JR and city buses will get you downtown or to the other attractions in the area. Very good Japanese breakfast.
