Fantastic that I was allowed to walk around the farm and see the evidence of millions of years of Earth history when the Karoo was an inland sea, and thin layers of sediment was deposited, and now sits on a 85° angle, with trace fossils of the still primordial wetland... Zebras and springbok are the myriad, of uniquely Karoo fynbos, with the unique fresh scent in the air. The bright Karoo starlight makes the winter night priceless. Even though I slept in the caravan, I enjoyed a king's view of the night sky. Far enough out from the maddening crowd, yet near enough to all the tourists attractions in the cities and towns nearby. Probably nice to bring your mountain bike, and rest at one of the many picnics tables in the veld. Lula, the friendly sheep dog went out walking with me, and we had many adventures.

wow! this hostel was just beyond my expectations... literally had everything you could need. At Joint backpacker you don't feel like you are in a hostel, but at home. The owners treated me like family and were super helpful with everything. Really kind people! One of the fewest hostels who doesn't think only about money and cares a lot about people and the guests.
