A recently renovated campground located in Bidiyah, Al Salam Desert Camp Bidiya features a shared lounge. We booked a deluxe tent on the website for late Dec. Additional activities do not have to be pre-booked but many of the popular activities fill up quickly so it is advisable to pre-book if you want a specific time. Communication with the team was excellent with an accurate pin sent for the location. The camp is easy to find just off the main track. Arrival and check at reception were easy. They have an electric cart to move people and luggage around the site which means it is very safe for children to walk around and play. The tents are exceptional. Big, clean and well equipped. We had a shower and flushing toilet attached! At the back of the camp there are sand dunes maybe 200ft high, they can be climbed (or driven up) for a beautiful view of the surrounding area at sunset. The food was excellent with options to eat inside or outside. Inside tables fill up quickly so you may want to great early or wait until one comes free. There are plenty of tables outside. Again the level of service from the camp staff was excellent during meal times. The tent came with a small fridge, a kettle and air conditioning. There were a few mosquitos around but piff paff was provided and a few short sprays before bed solved it. While it was very warm during the day the temperature dropped at night and it is worth packing a long sleeved top/jumper for sitting outside when the wind picks up. The activities were well organised and ran throughout the afternoon and the following morning. Some activities prefer payment in cash and there are no ATMs nearby. The tent features a private entrance, a seating area, as well as a private bathroom boasting a shower and a bidet. The tent offers a barbecue, a sofa, as well as a terrace and a patio. I spent alot of time researching the desert camp options and chose Rashid's because it ticked all the boxes for us...small camp - only 4 tents for a more intimate experience, reasonable prices for everything, elevated tents so not on the ground with creepy crawlers, private bath inside, comfy beds, good food, good reviews of the owner host for a welcoming and enlightening experience. The stay exceeded all of my, already high, expectations. also, some camps are just barely in the desert and some are many miles in, this was a lovely distance in. Rashid made us feel like honored guests and family. He wants his guests to feel at home and was open to all questions about his homeland and culture. He taught us so much and also loved to hear and learn about our homeland and lives. The food was incredible as well. We went dune bashing to collect some of the plastic I was so sad to see in the desert by my request. He took us to see camels and there were new babies. Whoever you choose to stay with please honor the desert and collect your garbage. But don't miss the opportunity to stay with rashid! We arrived as strangers and left as honored friends!

The tent's kitchenette, which features kitchenware, is available for cooking and storing food. Situated in Bidiyah, SandGlass Camp features accommodation with seating area. Everything was just perfect! The owner is incredibely courteous and funny. Food delicious, additional entertainments above my expectations. There is pick up from the nearest village available so you don't need to have 4W car. 11/10 I deeply recommend this place!

Guests will find a stovetop, kitchenware and an oven in the kitchen. The tent also has a barbecue. Set in Al Wāşil in the Al Sharqiyah region, Hamood desert local camp has a balcony and mountain... Great hospitality, friendly environment and amazing experience alltogether. Would recommend for anyone.

Located 50 km from Wadi Bin Khalid, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Bidiyah-20 kms inside the desert from the village Al Hawaiyah. The camp is great. There are only two tents and you can rent the whole thing for yourself. We really got the experience of being out in the desert alone. The facilities are excellent with a good bathroom and shower and nice bed (no A/C). The tents are in the traditional style as is the dining tent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely worth waking up for sunset.

This tent has a seating area, bathrobe and soundproofing. Situated in Shāhiq, Alsarmadi Desert Camp features accommodation with seating area. An amazing experience in this camp owned by Sayid and his family. We had a wonderful welcome, kids enjoyed different activities as camel ride and sledding on the dunes. The camp is located high on the dunes, view and sunset are amazing. The tents have really comfortable beds. I would recommend this camp if you are looking for an authentic Omani desert experience. It was really hard to say goodbye.
