We arrived at 1:00 am and she was wide awake, waiting for us and giving directions how to reach to the property, took us to the room and made us feel secure & comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, top of the world. We have been to many part of the world and stayed at many 5 star hotels. But the breakfast served at the Inn on Stephens Bay better than the 5 star hotels. It was healthy, just melts down in the mouth. The lawn and outside of the property is well maintained.

Port Hardy is 43 km from Nimpkish Hotel including a ferry ride, while Port McNeill is 7 km away by ferry. The nearest airport is Port Hardy Airport, 33 km from the inn and a ferry is required to reach the airport. What a fantastic place! Very warm welcome from Penba and his husband who are managing this beautiful hotel. We looooved the oceanfront outside patio which got everything to feel cozy and relaxed : hammock, comfy sofas, you name it! Very quiet, room and the whole hotel was sparkling! Penba is also a wonderful cook so we had dinner in the bright living room, gazing at the ocean while eating a super flavourful homemade palek paneer! I walked all along the seaside and up to see the world's tallest totem pole, and looked at all the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw art and history along the walk. So instructive and beautiful! Did not go to the cultural center as I arrived too late but it is a good excuse to come back and stay at the Nimpkish Hotel again!

The Tofino Paddler’s Inn is perched on the waterfront of downtown Tofino. The building has a lot of character being around a 100 years old and the town’s original hotel.

The Inn has five rooms. We pride ourselves on clean, simple and funky accommodation for the traveler to stay and explore the area. Rooms are private with a shared kitchen and two shared bathrooms I expected a regular hostel, but was met with something looking more like a hotel! The owners and staff were all super friendly, giving loads of tips on what to do in Tofino. The rooms were clean and tidy, just like the common area and kitchen. We were able to park our bikes in the backyard and also leave our wetsuits to dry in the drying room overnight, which was very kind! The location is also perfect: in the middle of "downtown" Tofino, with restaurants, shopping and grocery store nearby.

A refrigerator and an electric kettle are featured in each room at the Black Bear Guesthouse. An en suite is also available, and each includes heated floors.

Guests staying at Black Bear Guesthouse can enjoy on-site wildlife viewing. All guests are welcome to enjoy the waterfront side of the property which is in front of the owners main residence.
