Kamikura shrine is a must go and the famous ice shave that alot of actor and actress go here. Kid you not.

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Lovely little guesthouse with three rooms. Very cosy shared living area. You sleep on tatamis (comfortable!) and bathroom facilities are shared. We arrived by car and there was parking. Our host gave us some excellent recommendations around town. It’s in a residential neighbourhood about a 10 minute walk down to the beach and the tourist area, which is really nice (as the centre of town feels a bit touristy)

Simon and Yumiko, the owners of this small Guesthouse are such lovely and inviting people. Simon met us at Kii-Tanabe station at our pre-discussed time, and drove the 25 min to the remote guesthouse. The atmosphere around the property is serene and so quiet, such a good change in pace compared to Osaka! Simon helped us with our Kumano Kodo walking plan, and then the next morning dropped us off at the start of the hike, another 30 min drive away. There’s a small shrine that you can walk to close to the property. There are two guest rooms on property, we were the only ones there, so it wasn’t loud. We had a microwave, fridge, electric kettle and heater/air conditioner unit in our room. They also provide coffee and green tea and cups! Highly recommend!
