Company information

Louisburgh Holiday Cottages were a community development funded by over 1000 local people who purchased shares in the 1970s. The entire community got behind their establishment. Of the 50 such developments built along the west coast of Ireland at the time to encourage tourism in small towns and villages, Louisburgh Holiday Cottages are one of only two remaining and operational. All profits from the cottages go back into the further development of the cottages. No dividends have ever been paid.

Traditional Irish cottages with original features. Cosy and comfortable with all modern convenences. Short stroll from Louisburgh village centre, along the Wild Atlantic Way. Sleeping 5 people this traditional Irish cottage boasts many unique features incluing a beamed, high ceiling in the living area, tradtional hearth, flagstone floor and pine dresser. The main room is spacious and ideal for gathering around the fire or relaxing after a day at the beach.

Louisburgh is at the centre of some of the most beautiful scenery that the west of Ireland has to offer with white-sand beaches, surfing, fishing, hillwalking and cycling just some of the amenities in the immediate area. Louisburgh Cottages are ideally situated for those who want to explore and enjoy all this magnificent stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer. Surfing beaches, fishing rivers and lakes, rugged hills to walk as well as golf, horseriding and stunning scenery abound in the area of Louisburgh. The village which is a traditional market village is just a 2 min stroll from your cottage. Tourist attractions nearby include the heritage town of Westport, Westport House Estate, Croagh Patrick Mountain, Murrisk Abbey, Kylemore Abbey and Connemara.
