Perfect peaceful retreat into nature. Open plan lounge, kitchen, dining room. Bathroom with standard WC and shower. One bedroom has 4 bunk beds, the other has 2 bunk beds; therefore beds for 6 guests. Large terrace with beautiful view over the widest part of the lake. Outside furniture and BBQ. Wifi, and TV for Chromecast use. Free use of rowing boat (May-Sept) - max 4 adults). 10 mins drive to the local town of Horten. Parking right by the cabin.
I'm half norwegian half english, with strong roots in both countries. Can speak both languages, and can understand a bit of french too, should the need arise. After check-in I'll leave you to enjoy the beauty of the place. I am only a telephone call away should you need to contact me, and only a short drive away should you need me to come over at any point during your stay.
The lake is now designated as a nature reserve, and there are hundreds of species of bird that nest or visit. The cabin is surrounded by woodland and the waterfront itself. From the main road, you'll feel progressively like you're driving off into the wilderness, and then you'll reach the tranquility of the lakeside plot. You can drive all the way down to the cabin and there is plenty of parking - you'll be the only one parking there. The last 25meters can be a bit slippery in rainy season but you can either park there or if you have a 4x4 its never an issue and do drive the last few meters extra. It's a few minutes drive back to the main road, where you can easily access Horten town centre, or the E18 motorway which takes you to Oslo or Torp (Sandefjord's airport). 35mins to Torp from the cabin, 1 hr 20 to Oslo. The local train station is a short drive away, and that can take you to Oslo or down south. Tønsberg, Norway's oldest town, is 25 minutes drive south (no need to take motorway), and Nøtterøy and Tjøme are two lovely accessible islands from there.
