Chalet Alpina is a beautiful chalet set deep in the Soca Valley in Slovenia. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning, and home to many great activities like hiking, canyoning, zip-lining and skiing - we particularly loved the white-water rafting on the bright blue river that flows through the valley. The chalet itself is spacious and homely, with everything you could possibly need, including lots of books, games and guides to the area, and the locals are friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic time, and I can't recommend it more - we'll be back for the ski season!
I am a professional man from the West country. I discovered Slovenia whilst on a motor bike trip in 2005. I was particularly enchanted with the Soca valley and especially the delightful little town of Bovec. After one or two holidays there I ended up buying a property. With the help of local tradesmen and contacts the house was extensively renovated over the next year and I have subsequently rented it to many guests from a variety of countries, for both Summer and Winter holidays, including members of the film crew working on the recent "Narnia" film, some of the scenes of which were filmed nearby. Judging from comments in the visitors book, pretty well everyone shares my enthusiasm for this beautiful area and have found the house to be a welcoming and pleasant place to stay.
