This is the main gate - just outside is the starting/ending...
This is the main gate - just outside is the starting/ending point for many of the city's bus routes so it all happens here. The downside is that it is also very busy. You access the walls to walk around from this gate entrance (on you left as you come into the city)

Pile gate very nice, unfortunately there is an unpleasant smell all day - most likely because of the sewage system. At the gate there is a stop for all city bus lines and probably some suburban lines.

The location was perfect in the Old Town. We were given excellent instructions on how to get to there. It was no trouble to find just off the main Stradun, with an easy flat walk from Pile Gate. It was very handy having a full laundry on the ground floor for free guest use. We met the House Manager,Jelena, who was so lovely and helpful. We really loved our stay. Thank you so much to the SUNce Palace Apartments team.

The view from my window was stunning! Apartment had a good size refrigerator and cooking facilities (which I didn’t use) along with a washing machine (also I didn’t use this) I spent four nights there. Host was lovely. I would highly recommend this place and I hope to come back the next time I’m in Dubrovnik.

For travellers who are not planning to drive and are catching public transport, this apartment is where you want to stay. Minimal steps to get to the property from the main road. You could not be closer to Old Town unless you were in actually in Old Town. We had regular check ins with our host via messaging who was always prompt in replying. Room was roomy enough, but watch out for the slanted ceiling! Beautiful view of Old Town from our room. Plenty of hangers in the bathroom.JenniteaAustralia

A couple days before my stay he made the effort to drop me a text first to check on my arrival timing. The apartment is clean, spacious and conveniently located in the old town near Pile Gate. Love the clean crisp tasting drinkable water that comes directly through the tap in the unit.
