Located in the centre of Sachseln, 200 metres from Lake Sarnen and the train station, the family-run Gasthaus Engel features a Gault Millau-awarded restaurant serving Swiss and international cuisine. This was a wonderful place. I recommend it highly. Be sure to have dinner, it was wonderful.

Situated right in front of the Melchsee-Frutt Cable Car, Gasthaus Waldhaus is a traditional guesthouse that enjoys a central position in Melchtal. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with enough to make a couple of extra sandwiches for lunch.

Cu vedere la Lacul Sarnen, Seehotel Wilerbad are o locaţie idilică între munţi şi lac, la 20 de minute de mers cu maşina de Lucerna. The location was beautiful. It was nice to have a couple of days to relax in the spa since travelling Europe. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which allows wasy access to the train station. Staff were lovely and the food was great. Would highly recommend!
