Built in 1925 and classified as a monument, the GDM Megaron is located in the heart of Heraklion, overlooking the old Venetian port and within walking distance of all the major sights of the city. Wonderful 2 days in this fabulous modern hotel, in luxuriously renovated oldest building in Heraklion. Junior suite was spacious, comfortable, with modern design, perfect bed, bathroom... Breakfast was fantastic, with huge variety of everything. Roofrop pool and restaurant witj a view at the harbour and Venetian castle are fantastic. But non of this would not matter at all, if it the staff of the hotel wasn't so kind, polite, welcoming and friendly as IRENE, who made our stay fabulous, and kind and friendly Katerina at the reception. Will be back for sure!

Great selection of fresh, local ingredients. 5. Venue is pristine and modern, with a sleek design. Everything was spotless and felt brand new. I'm definitely coming back here next year!

Great architecture and interieur design/furniture overall. Breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice and fresh products. You can enjoy this indoor or outdoor on the lovely courtyard. Pictures on booking for the rooms are 100% correct. We had a room with a great view on the church with a spacious balcony. Great bed (firm), shower, etc. Best of all was the staff. Katarina and the other team members were very helpful and hospitable! Great cocktails by the way.

The property is very well-managed, everything is in order and plenty of activities and sun and wonderful blue-flag beach. Very thankful for such a gem. Food is tasty and fresh, Estia restaurant and Anna who worked their and all the other staff were super friendly for us was especially good with a variety of fresh vegetarian and seafood, staff is absolutely professional and totally supportive.

My husband and I have been travelling to resorts separately, together and as a family for over 20 years, primarily in South America (mexico, dominican republic, columbia, aruba etc) but this is by far the absolute best resort we have been to and I am so happy my children had this experience. The staff is always gracious, smiling, happy and especially helpful. The food and drinks were amazing in all areas of the resort! The rooms are well maintained and always clean with comfortable beds and adequate supplies. The grounds are immaculate and well manicured. I got a sense that the people truly enjoy working here because of the happiness they exude all day long. The assistant manager is exceptional and is all over the resort helping and ensuring that the guests are well taken care of. This is my 3rd time to Greece and my husband and childrens first time and Im so happy that all of the great things that I’ve said about this beautiful country and its people was proven true! Heraklion is a 30 minute drive away and full of restaurants and gift shops. Hersonissos is a 5 minute taxi ride east and is so full of energy. Bars, clubs restaurants, shops, everything!! Thank you Lyttos Beach for the amazing memories :)

The place had several huge pools so the pool area wasn’t that busy. There was plenty of things to do in the hotel it was like a town of it’s own, we had no need to go out because it provided everything from restaurants to supermarkets and even cute bars. I felt like they put the thought in the smallest things in the rooms to make it super comfortable, like a place to dry beach towels and swimsuits, bottles of water everyday, parasols and more. Staff was really nice and helpful with everything we needed. Every morning there was a guy coming to our room to offer us a cup of coffee really liked that.

The breakfast was excellent but what made the experience exceptional was the staff and a special acknowledgement to George and his breakfast team Despina and Sophia at the reception , Michalis, Danae, Antoni at the beach and Zacharias and Dino - they were all awesome . Our vacation ended with a special touch with an impeccable drive to the airport with Ari who invited us to his hometown and convinced us to return to Crete !
