Tortugal Boutique River Lodge er staðsett í ánni Rio Dulce, nálægt kastala frá 16. öld og er baðað í næstum stöðugri andvara frá ströndinni en þar er boðið upp á svalandi og hressandi stað. everything about it ! the rooms are lovely , the location is perfect and the activities (kayaking, swimming around the property, taking a boat to the river, walking in the woods) in the property were fun! the food was excellent throughly the day including breakfast. lunch and dinner and the drinks are delicious. the staff and especially Angela and Ruby, were just so lovely and are So welcoming and professional. they helped us with everything. from the minute we arrived until we left, even with taking a bus back to Antigua and arranged the driver, taking a boat day trip and just made everything feel so nice. Angela is an exceptional caring person and made us feel so good during the entire stay. thank you Angela for making our stay so special.

El Hotelito Perdido er lítið frumskógar athvarf staðsett miðsvæðis í Rio Dulce-þjóðgarðinum. I had enjoyed very much to stay there. It was a perfect way to end my journey through Guatemala. A great place to relax to eat excellent food and to enjoy the nature and surroundings. Muchas gracias por todo.

Hotel Posada Stella Maris er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á 5 stjörnu gistirými með garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Gististaðurinn býður upp á alhliða móttökuþjónustu og barnaleikvöll. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar er staðsett í Izabal, 45 km frá Castillo de San Felipe de Lara og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, verönd og veitingastað. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Livingston Resort Hotel er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Lívingston. The pool was amazing and has heating, allowing you to enjoy it even late at night. The food was amazing, I tried all of the pasta places in town and none came close to match theirs.

Really nice place with nice staff and food! We got an upgrade because it is low season. That was really nice. The location was great and easy to reach

Hotel Kangaroo y Restaurante er með garð, sameiginlega setustofu, veitingastað og bar í Rio Dulce. Gistirýmið býður upp á herbergisþjónustu, alhliða móttökuþjónustu og gjaldeyrisskipti fyrir gesti. The staff were super nice and helpful. Lovely breakfast and very nice location. Great value for money. You can also rent a kayak, 10 quetzales for four hours, if you want to explore the river on your own or with a friend. It was me and my travel partners favourite hotel during our month long stay in Guatemala. I highly recommend staying here for a few nights!
