The shower head in the private bathroom in 619 room was not working properly , it definitely made my showers very inconvenient.

Half of the washing machines were not working. Some of the showers were also not working during the stay and so we had to use ones on another floor which was inconvenient.

Staff were helpful, especially when extending my stay and checking out. Good sized kitchen and storage space for food. Size of lockers was perfect for my luggage.

I have travelled a lot over the last 25 years and the YHA hostels rarely dissapointed me. I tried to book my three nights stay there but they didn't have availabiliity for the first night so I checked in to another hostel nearby from which I run away after one day because of the poor quality of the accomodation. This YHA is modern, clean, well organized and have a fantastic top terrace with swimming pool overlooking Brisbane city centre. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped with lockers. The position is optimal being set near Roma Street Station which is the major hub for public transport and airport transfer. Highly recommended

- ... but the one in the kitchen was leaking water for the entire week and no one cared - there is no common room (just tables next to the kitchen) - luggage leave options paid - 5AUD per day per piece - no common room so you can't sit somewhere with your laptop for example. They have a special room but costs 10AUD per day (which is embarrassing) - 30% or more fridges were damaged during my stay

The room was a bit stuffy and not very big, also the mattress was way too soft. I also didn't like the mattress when I stayed at YHA in byron bay.

Pretty good facilities, there was a pool area, deck area, a bar, pretty big common area, coworking space, workout area and lots of activities to chose from

No soap dispenser in the bathroom or soap provided. There were stickers on the lockers saying there were power outlets in the lockers, but there weren't. there were only power outlets near the floor so, sleeping in the top bunk, I could not charge my smarphone during the night. I think there should always be a power outlet near your bed.

The shower in our ensuit bathroom had no pressure at all, it was like showering in mild rain.

Loved the view, would definitely recommend booking yourself a private room with river view if you’re budget allows it. Our Bed was nice, the Bathroom was clean.

The AC always turns off automatically at night, I guess they want to save the energy. But it’s annoying me coz I had to wake up and turn it on again. Besides, the AC is really dirty as if they’ve never cleaned it before.

The location is just walking distance from bus stop and train station. They have many facilities in hostel, especially the kitchen. The room and bathrooms are really clean however they don’t clean the AC that often. There are many recycling boxes in the hostel and they’re taken environmental matters seriously. Staffs are nice and friendly and helpful. There are many facilities which broken at that moment but they also fixed them really fast, unlike any other hostels which never repaired their devices and tools.
