How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was a little dated, compared to the online photos. The hallways in the room I stayed needed a vacuum and tidy. The room inside was clean, however.
The accommodation was well-located and comfortable. Great amenities with cooktop and washing machine, though did not use. A spacious room. The staff were friendly and provided professional service.

The shower, door to close to the toilet so you can't open all the way.
Great location, awesome food shops everywhere, nice room with big fridge, microwave and more.

Bags took ages to get to our room. Shower a bit dodgy. Bedroom very small.

The swimming pool was very comfortable, and having a sauna was great. It would be nice if the spa pool water temperature could be a bit higher during the winter. Also, the elevator wait times were longer than expected.

The couch in the living room had been vomited on. Didnt sit on it the whole time unfortunately, and could smell it when sitting near it - it wasn't too bad but a lot of high maintenance customers would have a sook about that. Apart from that and no Sauna working, it was amazing. Thank you

Shower inside the bath alright, but could be challenging for children/ elderly. Bathrooms on lower floors are a bit tight on space, but manageable. Difficult for Uber drivers to park appropriately due to access way outside hotel being in slightly peculiar position.
Excellent location. Staff very helpful. Room spacious. Kitchen equipment and laundry equipment provided in apartment. Bed very comfortable. Pillows excellent. Air conditioning moderately difficult to figure out, but once it was going very comfortable. Close to amenities and CBD.

For the price we paid for 1 night I would have expected a nicer view with a room on a higher floor. We had no view at all on level 21.
The bed was super comfortable! The room was nice and clean and the hotel is conveniently located.

It was very noisy, like a consent drone of traffic and people noise all around, that was with all the doors and windows shut. I know this is expected in the middle of a city, but we stayed in another hotel about three blocks down towards Circular Quay and the room was very quiet, they had better double glazing I think. We also had trouble with the TV's couldn't get Netflix or even any local channels. We weren't in the room long enough to worry to much about it, so we didn't mention it to staff, it may have been a quick fix.
The property is in a great location, close to a lot of shops, bars and eatery's, also close to Train and light rail making it very easy to get around. Our room was great on the 28 floor, very spacious and with a balcony looking down into the busy streets. Great kitchen faculties and very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. WIFI good.

The bathroom had what seemed to be a nest of baby flies in it, covering the shower walls and roof - likely from the dust clogged roof vent. After washing them away in the shower, more would take their place in a few hours. Wasn't a big deal, though.
Great location close to many food options and the train loop for easy transport. Close to the airport. Comfortable and spacious room. Was able to check in early on arrival and store luggage after checking out.
