“The setting is excellent with great views of the dales all around. The staff were very friendly. Food was good. Beer was excellent . Breakfast was very tasty.”
“Really helpful and friendly staff. Even the staff that were new were honest about what they didn't know and proactive in finding out and being as helpful as possible. We stayed here when walking the Pennine Way and it was exactly what we needed. Granted there aren't really any other options in the area(!) but I would go back anyway. Being in such a remote location, it must be tricky to cater to all the different types of guests that they get but they're doing a great job. A very 'pubby pub' with a real fire and good beers, very suitable for dogs and walkers. Also, a more restauranty area with very good food. The breakfast was lovely too. If you're staying in the glamping pod, I would recommend taking flip flops or other slip-on shoes just to get to the bathroom though! We didn't think of that and only had walking boots which was a bit of a faff.”
