Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStaff training could have been a little better. Asked the cocktail waiter what an ingredient in one of their signature cocktail was and he didn't know. Surely, learning the ingredients of your very own cocktails should be a basic?
Excellent service from a friendly staff, particularly Rohan at the check-in desk. He couldn't do enough for my birthday stay! Great breakfast as well, in fact, one of the best hotel Full English I've had in quite a while.

CanadaThe shower drain was a bit slow, so sometimes the water would pool and overflow into the bathroom floor.
Room was a great size and bed was exceptionally comfortable. Amazing location, super easy to get to from Heathrow, and not very touristy. There was a note about construction near the hotel and potential noises, but we heard absolutely nothing. The daily wine hour is an awesome treat, and the staff was nothing but wonderful to us. The hairdryer in the room wasn’t working and they promptly dropped off a working one for us. Truly loved our stay and this is now my go-to hotel next time I’m in London.

GermanyWe had a room facing Liverpool Street at the corner to A10 on the first floor. Because of the very good windows you could barely hear anything from the streets. It was perfectly quiet. BUT: you could hear (and feel) the tube below the hotel. For people who really want a quiet room, we would not recommend it and we would not stay in this room again. One night there was a private party going on in the pub located in the hotel and it was so loud that we could not understand each other in our room (really!). Luckily, we only arrived at our room at 11pm and they shut down the music at 23:55, but I can't understand how they can accept such events in their hotel annoying so many guests. The brekfast, by the way, was not even on a 4 star hotel level. Nothing special at all, no fresh juices for example, very limited choice of cheese or cereals. And they asked us to not order eggs please, because the kitchen was already too busy. Hello? And what many hotels in London do these days: They simply put an additional discretionary service fee per day of around 5% on the invoice. You can ask them to remove it, but we think that this is a very bad habit.
The location is perfect, because of direct access to Standsted Express, many tubes (incl. Elizabeth line) to all areas of London. If you want to spend some time in East London (Brick Lane, markets etc.) this location is the perfect choice, because you can easily walk to the East London hotspots. Because the hotel is attached to Liverpool Station, you have access to all kinds of coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants etc. Travel time to the usual London touristic locations (Big Ben, Tate, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Hyde Park etc.) is about 30 minutes by tube (Central Line was our choice most often). The hotel is in a very nice old buidling and the interior of the entrance hall is stunning. We liked the design and size of the rooms very much. The hotel claims to be a five star hotel and the front desk staff is very friendly, but all in all this is no 5 star hotel at all (and we have been to many), it is on a solid 4 star level. In the end, you can't expect to get a full 5 star experience, if you pay a 4 star price. You simply need to look at what this hotel charges compared to other 5 star hotels in London. Huge difference. What we were impressed about: One day I needed to spend the whole day in the room for work and when we left for dinner they made our room and we did not even ask for it. This was definetely a moment (the only one) of a 5 star experience.

United StatesWe loved the location. Right next to Liverpool Station, which is the main artery to everything. Jason (I think that’s his name) at the front desk helped us every day and gave us great advice and information. Wonderful breakfast and great bars in the hotel.

United KingdomThe steam room was out of order for a couple of days - but the staff rectified this. Also some rooms dont offer baths in the en-suites nonetheless this may not be a big issue for most.
location, staff, facilities, extra comfortable beds which it was clear the owners had invested in to make as comfortable as possible for guests. All in all the hotel has everything a business man or general traveller on vacation would want

SingaporeWould have preferred a quieter room, but not too bad.
Great hotel but being next to Liverpool Street Station and a busy police station meant that it was occasionally noisy. Location next to Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane was fun and it's a 20 minute walk to Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and Borough Market.

IndiaThe room I stayed in had one window but it overlooked an internal area. Because of this there was no light in the room and it made the whole appeal a little dark and sad. Some of the rooms have a street view so if you get those, you are lucky. Otherwise all good.
The location. Very centrally located. Literally outside the Liverpool Street Station, which is one of the key tube stations in London. Allows for great connectivity. The decor and the vibe of the hotel is also very nice. Clean, modern, contemporary. The rooms also are decent in size and comfortable.
