How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Shower door opened the wrong way meaning it was difficult to not get water all over the floor. Very small bath towels. A lot of stairs, not suitable for physically challenged.
Great location, close to Hyde Park and several tube stations. Lovely street with a great local pub. Clean, fairly large rooms (by English standards) recently renovated. Staff were helpful.

Thank goodness for someone to carry the cases up the stairs! We sure got our steps in!
Loved the location, VERY VERY quiet for sleep, amazing being right in the city! Staff were very kind.

The room was cosy and adequate but there was not enough room either side of the bed for a bedside table. The location was excellent with just a short walk to the underground at Bayswater or Paddington Station. It was not far to walk to Hyde Park, Windsor Castle and Harrods etc. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

The noise from the restaurant sliding chairs and tables above us was ridiculous and started at 5:30am spoilt our stay.

Tiles on the bathroom floor were broken. Nice concept, but no good craftsmanship

The location of that place is amazing. It's nearby Bayswater and Paddington and you can easily walk there and go nearly anywhere you want from there. The hotel is looking very nice, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast is good as well.

The bathroom is very tiny. You could barley move in it. There is a 50 GBP deposit that you have to pay as insurance.
Excellent location, walking distance to Hyde park. Room was okay and pretty quite.

The bathroom was tiny and it smelled terrible the whole time! Unfortunately that put a dampener on our experience. Also it is worth noting that there is no lift so be prepared to lug suitcases up the stairs.
The family room was wonderfully spacious. Beautiful high ceilings and lots of room for our family of 4. Location was great and it was peaceful and quiet.

We had a flood on the room they assigned to us but amad help us a lot to change us the room.
The kindness of the girl with rastas and the other two guys. And the guy from the housekeeping it was very kind to with us.

We were relocated in a different hotel : Central Park Horel which was a few minutes walk from Hyde Park Boutique Hotel. Only one elevator was working and the hotel itself wasn’t very welcoming.
Location is great, very central. You can walk to Hyde Park or Oxford Street easily. Paddington is very close and there are lots of buses and tube stations close-by.

Nothing really.
The location is really good, close to Paddington Station and just a short walk from Hyde Park.Bars and restaurant also a 5 minutes walk. Staff was very friendly and the check in was smooth. We stayed in a triple room that was perfect for us.Beds were very comfortable.The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure was excellent,just what we needed after our long days walking around. Really good value for money.I would stay at this lovely hotel again.

Our room was located in the basement, the view was gloomy.
Clean room and bathroom, friendliness of staff, good breakfast. Free coffee and tea in the rooms. Furnishng is modern and looks new.

Be prepared : there is no lift and the stairs can be quite steep if you are the last floors. But it was a good workout.
Very beautiful building, close to Kensington Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got upgraded and the room was vast and comfortable.
