How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room could’ve been abut cleaner, understandable that it’s an old building in an old area however wasn’t as clean as I would expect. Cupboards falling off hinges, walls could also do with some fresh paint

We were not able to locate it until we opened document to see location. Also this hotel has zero human intraction which I feel not okay. Everything is code based and it was all dark when we reached the Hotel. Bathroom was just ok and old painted.
Location is walkable from Monstaraki metro station and cafes are walkable. It's is budgeted hotel... If you are looking for something just to keep bags and roam around whole day then this is perfect.

Quite noisy but that’s somewhat to be expected in the area, closing the shutters blocks out a decent bit of outside noise but still loud and can hear noise internally in the building from other apartments like hairdryers etc. Bed and pillows were quite hard.
Room is good, has a little kitchen with fridge and sink. Had utensils and glassware. Little balcony to step out on. Blackout shutters are good for sleeping. Check in very easy and contact was very good.

Excellent, basic accommodation in great location for Monastiraki nightlife. No frills, but everything you need for a comfortable night's stay . Faultless communication with host and clear instructions for self check-in. Highly recommended.

They need to update their instructions for accessing lobby. It says “do this and that for your first time entering”, but in reality you must do the same thing every time you go in. Be clear with instructions to avoid frustration. Locking hardware on balcony doors needs to be fixed. More frustration and fear. Small shelves put in bathroom and shower would be a simple, inexpensive upgrade.

Too noisy early in the morning! No soundproofing. No hair dryer in my room, even though there was in other rooms. I wish there was also a shower stand in the bathroom.
24hour entry to the building with codes. The property sent me all necessary info the previous day. Clean and big apartment with spacious room, kitchen and big bathroom! Excellent location near Agias Irene's Square and Monastiraki.

You can hear music and people partying at night because the area is crowded with bars and cafes. I wasn’t inconvenienced but I can imagine that someone with light sleep might be. Little details need some maintenance, but the pros overweight the cons by a mile, so no need to go nitpicking.
The location is just at the heart of where the fun happens in Athens. There’s a bunch of cafes and bars in the area. Many of the city’s highlights are just a short stroll away. The living areas are spacious and nicely furnished, the rooms are really comfortable and have plenty of drawers and closets. Access to the property is easy through the elevator which takes you straight inside the property. The price off season is unbeatable. Real value for your money.

The heating did not work. It was freezing (December) and we slept with our hat on and pullovers as there were no additional blankets either. The apartments needs urgently refurbishing. It wasn’t really clean either (dust and spider webs).
It was very central, silent and big. Nice interior decorations.

The noise at night (3 bedroom apt)!!! The prior reviews about this are correct! All bedrooms faced the busy road/sidewalk. There are garbage & street sweeper trucks that come around every morning around 5am and you will hear them! Noise into the late hours of the night...like 3am (cars, motorcycles, people, horns, just about any noise you can think of!) If you are a light sleeper, plan for no sleep! This was week nights in off season, I can only imagine weekends/busy seasons! Living room area was quiet and had a bed to use, but no sheets were provided for it. With 6 people staying, we wish a set of bedding would have been provided for the living room bed (the only quiet area in the house at night!) Bathroom doors do not lock. 2 showers but 1 didn't have a shower curtain, even though there were hooks for one. Water covered the bathroom floor if that shower was used, so 1 shower for 6 people was disappointing but not a deal breaker. Door handle in one room was broken off inside the room. Couldn't close that door or the people in it couldn't get out without someone opening from hallway.
The apartment is large. The location is excellent...perfect for walking everywhere, plenty of dining options within 2-3 mins walk. Family of 6 with 2 younger kids (4, 7) and we walked everywhere with no complaints. 2 1/2 bathrooms with a large family is always a plus. Host was very responsive when we had questions. If you like a good sandwich try Space Ham, just a 2-3 min walk from apt. Very friendly owner and an excellent sandwich.

A bit noisy when neighbours coming/leaving - I could hear the doors opening and closing loud.
It was a comfortable accommodation. The room not too big, but the terrace is huge. Location very good. Great communication with all the explanations, check-in very easy. Clean and comfortable. Great value for the price. Would stay again. Thank you!
