How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Pool was small - not a big deal.
A great location hostel which is perfect for solo travelling. Incredibly clean and staff that want to help.

Bedspot wouldnt be bedspot without christina! She’s the best, she gave us advices on where to go. I went to the six bed for females and we were solo travellers so we made our trip all together

The location of this hostel was fantastic. Less than a 5 minute walk to the Fira bus station was so convenient. Christina was extremely helpful and so welcoming. She is so knowledgable about the whole Island of Santorini and was able to use this knowledge to help me out with plans of what to do each day. Her recommendations of places to eat had me visiting authentic local greek restaurants. Without Christina and BedSpot, my experience would be completely different.

I think It would be important to have more people working there because I think if I wouldnt have the opportunity to meet Christina i would be really lost. And is no one doing her job in the evenings. She is always for you but of course you dont want to be asking the same person day and night.
Christina! She is always taking care of you. She gave me all the recomendations yo know what to do everyday that wouldnt be that crowded. If i had a really nice stay there, It was bcuz of her. Furthermore, It is always really clean and you are always in care thanks to Tanya and Nimal.

Beautiful and so clean! Had everything I needed. Great as a solo female traveller. Staff were amazing, especially Christina who helped with key info for buses and ferry plans. Perfect value for money

Everything was perfect, from checkin to checkout! The very charismatic staff, they made sure I felt very comfortable and that I didn't miss anything! The location is close to everything you want to visit, including the bus station! Rooms clean, bathrooms same, will definitely be back

Our dormitory room was hard to close, even if we followed the instructions it was not always locking. There is definitely something to fix even the staff kept repeating us that it was us not following the instructions. We really had no interesting not trying to make it work as our door was giving directly on the outside. At the end, we ended up slamming the door to make sure it would lock which was not the best
The location is the best, the hostel if easily accessible and you can be very autonomous to get in your room even if your arrival is late or early in the morning. The place is very clean with a cleaning service everyday. The staff was helpful and giving tips for any of our request

The rooms at this hostel as absolutely gorgeous and I feel like calling this place a hostel doesn’t do it justice. There is a rooftop where you can enjoy the gorgeous sunsets over the ocean as well as a jacuzzi. I would rebook for that rooftop alone! The rooms were super clean and the hostel is a super short walk to the main bus stop in Santorini which connects the whole island. It is also a super short walk to the main shops in Fira!

Wish there were more group activities organized with other travellers.
Staff are really nice and helpful! Checkin and out very smooth. Towel and lock are provided. Free luggage storage as well. Even sunblock is provided! Rooms are nice clean and in decent sizes. I like the quiet location and easy access from the city center. The terrace is a good spot to hang out as well. There's a kitchen in case you want to cook. Instant coffee and tea bags are provided.

The location is really convenient. It is near the bus station of Fira. The staff is really friendly. Everything is tidy and comfortable. It’s really an excellent hostel.

I had a pleasant stay at the hostel, which was clean and comfortable. The beds and shower were good. Christina and the other staff are welcome and helpful. They know well the island and made good suggestions to improve your experience.

Great place to meet people. Second time staying after I visited a couple of the islands. Beautiful host and so helpful. All staff are so friendly. Nice kitchen next to reception to cook food. Highly recommend to stay if visiting solo and want to meet people. Pretty central location in Fira. Thank you for such a lovely stay

Perfect location walking distance to everything in fira. Really close by the bus station boy takes 5 minutes from the bus station to walk. Got the local bus f on the airport and was perfect. Staff are friendly and welcoming and give you great advice on best spots to visit. Staff sent a video of where to go to get to my room as arrived late and gave me the code had no problems. Got my own locker with a lock and a towel to use which was perfect. Stayed in 8 bed mixed dorm there were two showers and two toilets in the bathroom per dorm. Which was ideal. Bed had underneath storage which was perfect for shoes. Reception area has kitchen to cook if you don’t want to eat out all the time. Which is ideal. Even has a small pool. Met someone in the hostel first day and managed to rent a scooter around the island which was ideal. Only 12.50 euros each. Good place to meet people. Thank you for a great staff will definitely stay again.
