Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Archontiko is a very special place to stay from the adventurous climb up the mountain, the lovely hamlet and the wonderful welcome from Marie and George. From the minute we arrived we felt so at home. Marie provided us with lots of information booklets and maps to help in our touring. We arrived to beautiful mountain tea (delicious) and cake and cherries from the tree. The smell of jasmine was fabulous on the terrace. We had dinner on 2 of our three nights there and it was fabulous. Home cooking at its best, thank you Marie! The breakfast is buffet of fruit, yoghurt, honey, home made preserves, omelet, fried bread and other local delights. Freshly squeezed orange juice was beautiful, thanks George. George also entertained us with Greek music (he plays several instruments and sings), thanks George. Stephanie was there helping with dinner in the evening and was so kind, we enjoyed our chats! If you are travelling to the Peloponnese definitely include Archontiko in your plans. Marie is fluent in English and French and George offers guiding to those keen on hiking which is definitely the thing to do here.

United StatesNothing, I loved it all.
The warm hosts, the complimentary homemade breakfast bar, and delicious dinner. The live music after dinner. The opportunities to chat and connect with fellow travelers. The great advice for local hikes in the mountain. The close location to Mystras and Mount Taygetos. The beautiful rooms and cozy dining room. This guesthouse offers such an authentic and unique experience, I feel very fortunate to have found it, and I will be back.

NetherlandsNothing at all, it was the perfect stay
Our whole stay was amazing: from the communications before we arrived to the end. Because I'm pregnant I was concerned with the food I can eat. When they reached out to ask if we wanted the dinner and I explained why I am quite careful with what I eat, their response was so kind and understanding. I really appreciated this because I know I am more on the careful side. When we arrived, we received a very warm welcome, we had an amazing dinner (I would say the top meal we had in one week in Greece) and I could enjoy everything without worrying about my baby. The interactions with other guests in the small dining area were super nice and at the end of the evening we got treated to some local music from the host. Since we only stayed one night and had limited time to explore the area, we did a short hike recommended by the host the next morning which was perfect for us. Breakfast was also completely homemade and amazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you are there to hike or are walking the E4 you will be very surprised at the level of information and help you will receive. We can not speak highly enough about Maria, Yorgos and Stephanie. They have created a very special place to stay.

FranceA lovely traditional house, high in the mountains, with beautiful hikes nearby. The real gems are the kind couple who run it, for whom I’d give 15/10. Impossible to do them justice in a few lines, but if you’ve been there, you know! Outstanding food, outstanding welcome, outstanding service, outstanding attention to detail, over and above anything a 5* hotel could ever offer because it comes from the heart. WHAT an experience! We miss them already …

NetherlandsThis place is a hidden gem. In our 10-day road trip around southern Greece, we wanted to plan a night stop close to Sparta. Quickly it became clear that the city of Sparta itself was not an interesting location for the night, but we found some good looking places in the neighbouring towns. Archontiko stood out in terms of the rating, and having a (short) mountain adventure during our trip full of ancient sites and beaches seemed like an appealing alternative. The road to Anavriti already seemed adventurous, driving up a steep mountain in the evening of one of the most rainy days of the year. But the warm welcome we received certainly made up for that. The hospitality that George and Marie offer is something I only remember from childhood holidays in the Alps. I can still taste the homemade local food and "mountain tea" :) I won't give more spoilers. We would love to return some day for hiking in the Taygetos mountains.

IsraelGeorge and Marie are warm and welcoming hosts. the days we spent at their place were the dream we always had about Greece. amazing view, old but very well-kept house, vine shade in the garden, welcoming people with good humor. In the evenings we enjoyed Marie's wonderful home cooking, and George's Buzuki playing after it. our son joined with his guitar, and George was such a good mentor.
