We stayed in the annex. Our room was adequate, but nothing special. Prospective guests would be well advised to consider in advance of booking here how wee equipped they are to handle getting their own luggage upstairs. There were neither elevators (aka “lifts”) nor staff available in the annex to help with bags.

The castle and the grounds are lovely, and the dining room has exactly the sort of charm you want when having dinner in a castle. And the food—though not adventurous—is beautifully prepared.

There was nothing to not like. The location, facilities and staff were all wonderful, including the Irish Wolf Hounds that freely room the property and are happy to pose for pictures. Our stay was perfection!

Our stay was spectacular! We could not have asked for better service or accommodations. The food both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. If you want to eat in the main dining room, make sure you book early!

Disappointed, we thought we were staying at the actual castle. We clearly booked “lodge” rooms, however it was not clear that it was a detached location. We never would have booked knowing this.

Absolutely wonderful, we stayed in the Lodge and the room had so much character and charm, such a classic feel and super private and comfortable! A beautiful bath featured in the main room, yet there was a huge shower and separate bathroom too. The bed was extremely comfy and robes / towels / slippers etc all provided. The restaurant was fantastic, we received excellent service, along with excellent food and drinks. The wolfhounds were so friendly and curious and followed us back to the lodge each time, so fun!

The Castle hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The room in the lodge was spacious. Having a bar and restaurant on site was ideal. We also loved the dogs that were walking around.

Gorgeous gardens- I enjoyed walking in them and on the trail next to the hotel. I also LOVED the dogs on the property- so friendly and photogenic! The food was excellent, and the service exceptional!

The service from staff was excellent. Katie, Doreen and Esther each morning provided very attentive breakfast service. We also enjoyed great service in the Orangerie for meals and drinks.

Everything!!! The Staff especially Joe and Doreen serving an outstanding breakfast. The rooms, the ability to have an elegant dinner or a casual one and outside seating. Walking the gardens and a larger Walking path through the woods. And of course the canine greeters! The food is just fabulous also.

I absolutely loved the dinner served, and I love the fact that it combined the elegance and historic feel of a castle stay with charm and a more laidback vibe. Staff was super friendly and helpful during my stay. Rooms were actually larger and more comfortable than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

Always love coming back here for complete chill out, everything you could want from a stay in an exceptional castle, and more. Esther and her team, and the entire staff couldn't have been nicer. They were very attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel so comfortable. The AHERN room is sensational, nicely furnished with a wonderful view of the gardens, clean, warm and have all the amenities needed. The breakfast was fantastic. The service was astounding. This is a great location, a great castle, with exceptional attention to guests. I don't know how/why it isn't 5 star! I'd recommend this place to anyone. We loved every minute of our stay and we will 100% be back. Thank you, Nataliya & Christopher

for such a lovely hotel the glasses could do with a polish rather than straight from the dishwasher

Cutlery was not greatest, breakfast potato feii? and toast was poor, every thing else including the omelette was smashing , no complaints about the great room and shower and dinner was great.

Couldn't fault the facilities at all, but not close to the Town Centre, as you would expect for an Estate like this.

We had hoped for a room in the Castle itself, so we were initially disappointed when told we were in the Guest House/Gatekeeper Cottage at the entrance to the Estate. Until we opened our Room door that is. Amazing room with lots of space, a clawfoot bath and a separate seating/office area. Plus a 4 poster bed made it even better. Very comfortable and a lovely stroll up to the Castle for Dinner. Packed up in the morning then drove up for breakfast. Loved the fact that the Irish Wolfhound (pictured) was immortalised in the stained glass in the Dining Room.

Ballyseede Castle is fascinating ! Not only is it a beautiful “ old worldly “ hotel but it’s very much like staying at “ your favorite relative’s home “ where you’re treated like family, the dogs roam freely and are so loving and you immediately feel at ease. I travel solo and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ballyseede. It was truly one of the highlights of my trip in Ireland.
