Our hosts were extremely kind and extremely patient - even though our flight was late and we could check in only two hours later than expected. They had great tips regarding restaurants, tours, and travel destinations. If you are looking for a room in Catania, hosted by very helpful and kind hosts, this is the way to go.

Great location - an easy 15 minute walk into the historic part of Catania, which means in the evening you come back to a much more peaceful location to sleep than if you're staying in the centre.Some nice places around here to eat too - a couple of my favourites - the arancineria on the corner of the street (open late) and Mon Cafe on Corso delle Province for pistachio gelato and great coffee. The B&B is in a palazzo - lovely old rooms with marble floors and high ceilings. The air conditioning - a necessity in Sicily - works great! Comfy bed with crisp white sheets. My room was with a shared bathroom (some have ensuites) but it was always clean and didn't seem to be used by anyone else. The hosts are very welcoming. Will definitely be back here again - next time with my family.

- The staff didn't speak English at all (which is fair, but it definitely made it hard to check in) - Staff kept knocking at our door to tell us something insignificant or something we already knew because of the signs in the hotel or in the room (like don't throw stuff down the toilet, or don't take stuff from the kitchen). All using Google Voice recognition translator, which didn't work very well. - No warm water. To be fair we were there in the middle of summer, but the water wasn't pleasantly cold - it was nearly freezing.

The main bed need to change te metress as if you go on the sides you end up in the Middle. The smell of cigarets in the comon parts. The water wasen't good ( you are having a worm shower and then it become Cold or hot without touching nothing) and its a problem for a 4 year old Child

Bathroom: There was mold under the shower. Water heater was working really badly, so under shower you either have extremely hot water or cold. Only 1 bathroom to share with other quests and owners of the hotel. The shower door couldn't be fully closed so the water was leaking outside the shower. Communication: Hotel staff hardly speak English, so we needed to use Google Translate for every conversation. Air Conditioning: AC temperature control wasn't working. Even if we set AC to 26 degrees Celsius, temperature dropped below 20 degrees Celsius in the room. Baggage storage: We had flight at midnight so we wanted to leave baggages at the hotel after checkout but it turns out there is no baggage storage. Hotel owners let us leave our bags UNPROTECTED in the hotel hallway but only until 5PM, because apparently they were going out. Breakfast: Breakfast was supposed to be available in the hotel but it wasn't (so much for B&B...). instead we got discount coupon for the nearby cafe. Kitchen was not available for the guests. Room cleaning: The towels were not laundered even once during our stay. floor sometimes was left dirty after room cleaning. Reception: There is no personel working on reception. When we wanted to check out, we had to wait 15 minutes before owners came down from their apartment in the hotel. Noise: In our room we could hear every sound from the reception and hall behind our door so I could only imagine that it was the same the other way around.

Localisation: 25min walk to touristic city center, 15min to rocky beach. I've felt quite safe on the streets near the hotel even in the middle of the night. There is Lidl shop nearby. Wi-Fi: it was OK. Room: the bed was comfortable and the room was quite big.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this apartment. We have booked a room for 2 persons. We contacted the owner with the message that we are traveling from Taormina to Catania, and we will be later than estimated. The owner assured that it is not a problem, and we need to write 30 min before our arrival. The booking check-in time was marked till 21:30. We arrived before 21:00 and the owners were claiming that the place is closed since 19:00. They closed us the doors in front of our faces. We tried to call them again. At the beginning nobody wanted to give us clear indications what is happening and if we have our reservation secured. The answers were confusing and not aligned with booking conditions. We asked for clear answer, the owners were repeating that the place is closed and they do not give us a room. We were left in very uncomfortable situations, one day before our flight, which we were supposed to take early morning at 8:00. We had plan to take a shower, sleep a few hours and left the place next morning at 6:00. We were tired after all day of traveling to Catania. The stress was so big that I wanted to cry. It was 21:00 o’clock on Saturday, in the middle of summer season and we were without accommodation! The owner simply overbooked the place and did not cancel out reservation. Meanwhile we were waiting, the host was still receiving new guests who were doing check in! Seeing us and after long time of discussing and lack of the communication via booking, the owner booked us some other accommodation. We were forced to pay more for a new place of much lower standard in the ugliest district close to the bus station (with shared bathroom). The district was very unpleasant. On the other hand, there were no other alternatives in such situation :( We appreciate the help of the host, his time to call other place and to bring us there with his private car. On the other hand, it is not a way to manage the bookings. The lack of communication is not understandable.

We can not leave positive recommendations. Please avoid this place. We ended our holiday time in Sicilia with big stress and disappointment. Please be careful when booking this place!!! The host is not communicating properly and overbooking his property. It was a first time it happened to us, and we used to visit many cities and countries. We slept in hotels, b&B, hostels and it never happened to us.
