Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeI booked one day before, during the peak Sakura season. It is a peak rate but that’s what you get during Sakura peak season. The location is great! The room is standard Japanese budget hotel room size. Perfect if you are traveling alone, and when visiting Japan, you are always out of the room, so that’s fine. Cleanliness wise, it is good enough for me. Furnitures are dated but it’s clean. Just that the room lacks drinking water. But can be purchased easily from the family mart below the hotel.

AustraliaNothing really as what was expected
Location was great, opening window. Expected size of room and amenities. Did not take the breakfast option as is at Thai Restaurant in building and did not appeal.

RomaniaThough soundproofed - the hotel is 100m away from a fire station so we could hear the sirens ateast 2-3 times per night. There's no soundproofing that can stop that. We stayed at 3rd floor and in the evening if we opened the window there was no fresh air but the smell from the kitchen of the restaurant downstairs. And it feels there's no eco policy (as the whole of Japan actually feels like). Towels were changed daily and as well the disposable slippers which were barely touched
Perfect location right in the middle of ginza but on a quiet street. Staff very friendly and gave us early check-in and late check out for free. Perfectly sound proofed. Though room was small (as Tokyo hotel rooms are) it had everything you need, including clothes rope.

AustraliaSmall, but space is limited in Tokyo generally. Only 2 lifts for 13 floors, but wasn’t an issue during our stay.
Excellent location. Within in short walking distance of all the action in Ginza, but far enough to ensure a quiet night sleep. All the double rooms had sold out (so we booked two single rooms), but the French guy at the front desk made a great effort to put us on the same floor next to each other (2 people in each room). We really appreciated him doing this for us! The rooms are small, but you can open the window a fraction to let in fresh air. The beds are somewhere between a king single and double, but this seemed quite standard sizing for Japan. We slept two in each bed and it was fine. I would definitely stay again - the location is great.

JapanCheapest hotel I could find in Tokyo on short notice. I stayed for 2 nights, in the middle of Ginza, close to the most important places you'd want to visit. Recommend for single travellers, simple and clean hotel, nice if compact bathroom, comfy beds, good wifi...didn't try breakfast, plenty of place to grab food in the surrounding area.

Room is very clean and the staffs are very friendly, stayed there twice and requested for quiet room, and they always did their best to meet my needs. The location is very convenient to go around, Ginza Six is a few steps away, and the big department stores or Ginza station are all 10 minutes walking distance, I had a very present stay.

AustraliaHated breakfast so much! Choice of Thai noodles (not my taste first thing) or a truly awful attempt at a western breakfast. Every single day it was identical in each and every nasty detail so I gave up. Egg running with water, tinned sausage, tasteless microwaved rolls and bitter coffee. Complete waste of money. Double bed was just not big enough for two. Reception has no seating area so we were left standing waiting for a taxi and could not relax anywhere before a late flight.
Check in was slow but staff are friendly, cleaned the rooms efficiently and immediately acted upon requests for extra pillows etc. Good self serve laundry. Wifi was excellent and fuss free. A well run hotel.

IndonesiaThe room size is small like typical room in Tokyo, however, the interior is smartly designed so it's still good enough for single traveller
The best location if you want to stay in Ginza area, Family Mart is right in front of the hotel and Don Quijote is less than 5 minutes walking distance

Very convenient for shopping, dining and transportation. Many things to do can keep you busy up to midnight. Room is small but makes sense because it's in Ginza area. Comfy room that has curtain to keep the light out.

SingaporeTokyo hotels are generally small and hence you are only able to open one big luggage at one time. Room lighting is too dark for make up application.
Prime location between several interchange stations (Shinbashi, Ginza and Higashi Ginza station). Direct train to Narita and Haneda Airport. Love that lift sensor intuitively selects your level after scanning room card.
