Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe were in a room in the main house and perhaps they could do with a little updating, the shower for example. And although immaculately clean, it would be nice to have a few more immensities in the room, like a small fridge, a kettle and a coffee machine perhaps! Breakfast in the morning is a bit of a challenge if there are a lot of people staying…everyone sits at one large table and if you don’t time it right there is an awkward wait for people to finish up and move off!
The setting of the property is really beautiful, wondering around the grounds of the house is wonderful, with its hidden delights of ancient dolmens and menhir. All the nature surrounding you is really magical and the house itself is beautifully decorated and the rooms are spotless.

Netherlands- Road to hotel is a little but tricky since it is narrow road and only one car fit. - Breakfast is around one big table. I think having a few smaller tables makes more enjoyable and private breakfast. - Remote from city center. You need car. But we knew it when we booked it since it is obvious in google.
- Friendly staff - Nice breakfast - Parking in the hotel - clean room - AC and heating radiator

PortugalNothing...simply nothing to dislike. Fellow guests around the table or curled up at the fireplace were so pleasant and the staff thought of everything in advance. The host is a handsome country squire!
It has an air of casual comfort, a family home, with space to gather and space to curl up quietly. Food was fresh and tasty, from the perfect croissants and eggs at breakfast to Mom's best Portuguese comfort food for dinner. Walking the grounds past sheep, goats, cows and horses invigorated us, yet returning to sit around the warming fire, we settled deeply into couches for wine and conversation. Bedrooms are all about comfort and country views. It's so well insulated that the crying baby in one wing never bothered us in the other wing! A short drive to Evora, too.

United States of AmericaA must stay if you are in Evora. The location is minutes from the charming town and attractions, but also has a unique appeal all to itself. We stayed one night in early December, and the main house was warm and festive for the holiday season. Everything from the sitting rooms to the bedrooms was lovely. Our host was very helpful and gave us a history of the house and grounds, recommendations to nearby restaurants and attractions, as well as keeping logs on the fire for us. Breakfast was included, and was a complete spread. We spent the morning walking the grounds, a very enjoyable time. We will definitely recommend Casa do Governador to any friends visiting Portugal, and plan to return there ourselves.

AustraliaThe arrival instructions were not super clear, but this was quickly ironed out and did not impact the enjoyment of the stay.
Beautifully quiet with a clean, well appointed room that was very comfortable. We organised to have dinner here and really enjoyed the meal. There are communal lounge areas with plenty of space to either find a spot on your own to read a good book, or to meet other guests if that's your thing.

NetherlandsBreakfast choice could be a but expanded, but everything was fresh and delicious which matters most.
The location is wonderfully quiet and rural, amongst the vineyards and olive trees. This was exactly what we were looking for. Hard to reach without a car though and located outside the city center. Communal breakfast table was awesome and the interior design of especially the ground floors is authentic and elegant.

Just wow! Highly recommend staying here. Just beautiful. Everything about the property seems thought out and tasteful. Breakfast is delicious and generous. I only regret missing the opportunity to have dinner here, it was the chefs day off. Big fan of the pool area and the cromlechs were an added bonus. Close to Evora but far enough away to have peace.

United KingdomWe loved our stay here.
Breakfast was superb with a choice of cakes, pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt and the option of freshly cooked eggs. We also had dinner there which was homely and cooked specially for us accompanied by a good choice of wine. The pools were set beyond the vineyards and were quiet and had plenty of sunbeds. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable with great views over the vineyard. The town of Evora was only a five minute drive away.
