The property is just ok. It was overpriced for the facilities. There was no wifi. The pool was small and dirty. There small balcony overlooked shrubs. We did not have the set dinner for $125 each so felt very unwelcome when we went to the dining area for the complimentary drink and canapés. We didn’t bother the second night. The pool and food in the adjacent caravan park was better. The staff tried to help and were friendly. They seemed inexperienced. When paying almost $600 a night I would expect more.
Set in Katherine, Gorge View Bush Retreat: Katherine NT offers a pool with a view. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property.

Obvious attraction is the Katherine Gorge; downtown the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre (GYRACC) - well curated gallery; and proximity to Edith Falls and Umbrawarra Gorge (near Pine Creek)

We did a cruise of Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge which involved two gorges with a short walk in between. This was very enjoyable, comfortable with an interesting and informative narration. Scenery is spectacular and not to be missed.

Katherine was a vibrant town but we were only passing through on our way to Darwin .The Glamping tent accomodation which was pet friendly at the Gorge View Bush Retreat and Sunset view of the Gorge appealed to us as a stopover.

We chose the wrong time to visit Katherine during monsoon season. Most tourist sites are closed and very limited to what you can do. It’s a waste of time for us. In addition the accommodation we booked didn’t meet our expectations, so we decided to drive back to Darwin.

Not much appeal for Katherine Town itself however there is plenty of Indigenous arts and cultural experiences around to witness. Main purpose of the stay was for Nitmiluk which was sensational with a wealth of knowledge from the guides on the Indigenous culture and way of life.

We only spent a day at Katherine, as we were on the way to Kakadu. We visit the Katherine hot springs which was lovely for a morning dip as there weren't many people there yet. Would recommend canoeing in Katherine Gorge, stunning views and you might see some crocodiles. Edith falls is also another good place to visit for a hike and swim.
I loved the fact that there was a restaurant on site, as it was a few streets away from the Katherine town centre, and it was getting late when I arrived. They served delicious family fare. Another great factor was that all guests were respectful and stopped any partying at a reasonable hour, around 10 or 11pm, if memory serves me right. I liked the garden and the ability to sit outside with a cup of tea in the morning, listening to the birds. Great value for money.
We stayed the night in the glamping tents and they were wonderful. So comfortable, got a good nights sleep. The owners were very accommodating and so thoughtful. We went and did the dinner cruise at the gorge (also recommended) and when we got back there was a camp fire set up for us!
Every detail of the stay was thoughtfully planned. There was nothing we didn’t like. Having stayed in a number of places around Katherine, this is definitely my pick.
Great central location in Katherine and good base for day trips. Room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely for a late afternoon swim when we got back from exploring. Blanket in the cupboard was appreciated on a cool evening. Was great to have Netflix for a night in. Very quiet except for some afternoon music from the hotel next door. Helpful Manager.
Best thing is the food in the restaurant - it is really properly good restaurant food. Good location, quiet, all staff lovely, washing machine and dryer in family room was very useful. While we were staying in a family room we did notice there were really good camping facilities in the hotel grounds for those looking for secure camping.
The staff were so friendly, smiley, helpful and professional.
The room was very clean, modern, comfortable, king bed.
The food at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was also a great complimentary addition. Complimentary canapes and drinks on arrival.
Refreshing cool pool.
A great weekend NT staycay at the gorge.
I always stay at the Knotts Crossing when passing through Katherine as it is fantastic value for money, beautiful grounds and clean, comfortable rooms. The staff are always helpful and the food at the restaurant is good.
Cabin was basically clean, air conditioning worked well, plus a fan which we appreciated. It was handy to have the restaurant on site. Parking was good. Out of CBD, but a good location on the road to Katherine Gorge.
It has a LavAzza coffee maker. Location is good, staff are friendly. Although there’s shortage of egg supplies in Katherine , staff told us they tried their best, to make sure we can have it for breakfast daily.
Out of town, but on the road to Katherine Gorge, which is the main attraction. Apartments were up on poles, so the vehicle could be parked underneath out of the sun. Extremely friendly and helpful desk staff.
