They provided a welcome package with snacks, drinks and local food. The chalet is in fact a small house and is brand new. very nice and cosy and well equipped. 3 large bedrooms, a great bathroom with best shower I have ever had. There is an open garden with a jacuzzi for 4 persons and BBQ hut will soon be available. great location to explore the ornkneys and kirkwall. highly recommended.

Karrawa Guest House is set in the town of Kirkwall, less than 1 mile from the town centre and within 2.5 miles of the airport and ferry terminal. Karrawa is a lovely home with a very comfortable guest room and an exquisitely appointed en-suite. Everything was so clean and Fyona was quite friendly snd welcoming. Our cooked breakfast was delicious. I wish we had been able to spend more time there.

The location was good. The food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable. There was a lounge with games, sofas, and a large TV, but we were too busy to take advantage of it. Eric, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. He got us everything we asked for. The water was very soft, so only a small amount of soap or shampoo was needed. It didn't feel like we were intruding in someone's home. It felt more like a mini hotel with a fair amount of privacy for coming and going. Also, we had a ground floor room where we didn't have to drag suitcases up, which is hard being older adults. The stay was very enjoyable.

It's SPOTLESS and very comfortable, close to town and with a lovely view of the harbour from the upstairs window. Free Wi-fi, big TV + Netflix etc, laundry facilities and good firm mattresses. 2 good-sized bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Parking outside the front door. Great position for exploring Orkney.
