We were not sure how to access the keys at first as we had to enter the black door on the south side first. As there is an apartment in the other half of the house we though we would be entering somebodys apartment by opening the doors. But then the key was easy to find and the apartment was perfect for an overnight stay.

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull. Breakfast is really good with fresh warm bread! Different from other places we visited in Iceland where it’s just basic. Here we loved it! Evening restaurant also surprised us with delicious and not expensive food. Hotel is really clean. We booked a room with shared bathroom but the stay overall was better than in other hotels with private bathrooms! Cozy, clean, good value for money.
