The house is comfortably sized for four, kitchen is well-equipped, there are clear instructions where needed. This is a family vacation home rather than just a tourist cottage, and it really felt like something special the owners were sharing with us.

This cabin is not the most modern and chic but it felt so cosy and authentic. The lava formations around it were magical and it made for a great first base for us in Iceland and we stayed 2 nights - we really felt like we'd arrived somewhere really different. We love wildlife and were delighted to find a snipe on the porch on the first evening, loads of golden plover (including chicks), redwing and curlew. It was super cold when we arrived (weather obviously not the fault of the owner!) - about 4 degrees C in July, the wind was really going for it too - the small radiators were on and we quickly found the heater and were very cosy in no time. The bedrooms are very compact as is the bathroom but everything worked and was comfortable. We loved the inclusion of a good bean to cup coffee maker too. The location was excellent for days out in Husavik and Myvatn, we would have been happy to even have stayed a bit longer. It is off the beaten track, but the owner gave us super clear directions and we had no trouble finding it at all.

Saltvík Farm Guesthouse ligger 5 km från centrala Húsavík och erbjuder boende med utsikt över de omgivande bergen och Skjálfandi-bukten. I strongly recommend this guesthouse! Our room with private bathroom was so clean and pretty and the view from our window was spectacular. If I ever find myself on the north of Iceland again (which I hope I will) I will most definitely book here. We met only one person (the owner probably) and she was super nice. The location itself is very remote, on the way to Husavik, and probably perfect for seeing northern lights (we haven't because of the bad weather).

Location was great as walkable to main part of Husavik. The apartment had everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Good size, clean and comfy. Easy parking. Good communication and easy self check in so was ideal. Wish we had more than 1 night.
