Ai Santinelli is a rare gem and a wonderful refuge at the base of the Vorno valley quite close to Lucca. Great, interesting and caring host, who gave us many valuable hints and tips to make our stay most enjoyable. Very observant and welcoming staff. By and large a wonderful, serene and calm environment to stage out any activities in the area, could it be biking, hiking, history and culture related activities. We will return to the Ai Santinelli very soon.

The unit is an updated designer decorated apartment above the hosts Tuscan old house. It has a separate stair entrance. The setting and the garden, the glass house in it are beautiful, impecable and with good taste. Giulio and Massimo were very accommodating and helpful. We asked if they could help us find a truffle hunting and they were able to arrange one that was fantastic. We left with lots of large black truffles and a few small whites. Giulio drove all the way to another city to the meeting place to make sure we found our guide, and Bella the dog. Gave us lots of local suggestions. We had everything we needed in the apartment, lots of Nespresso pods, teas, there was even some pasta but we did not cook. The heat was great as well. I left some medicines and Giulio offered to mail them when he found them but I did not need them. We hope to return, even fantasizing with spending a month there and becoming more “Tuscan”. Great location, few minutes away from Lucca, also close to Pisa, central location.
