Chaminda and his family were wonderful hosts at the Rusara Guest House. The property is in an excellent location, right next to the beach and extremely close to restaurants, gym, etc. It is about 10-15 min walk to the Cargills supermarket. The rooms were very nice and clean and the A/C worked well. The property has a small kitchen and fridge that can be used, as well as outdoor table and couches for lounging. You could easily stay here for several months and have everything you need. Would recommend 10/10!

Family/Service/Breakfast/Location There is a very nice family keeps this place. We arrived rather late and they already started to search for us over the messages and gave us cold coconut juice upon arrival. We felt very comfortable all the time to contact the family. We spent 2 days in this location and afterwards prolongated our stay till the end of our vacation. We got excellent breakfast every day and it was different from day to day. Everything was very tasty and nourishing. Our room was big with good AC, big bathroom with hot water, big bed and refrigerator. The breakfast was set in the street. 2 big towels were provided. If you need room cleaning - inform the house owner about this. The location is great - 5 min walk to the beach for locals, 10 min walk to the Fish market with fresh sea food restaurants and 20 min walk to the Bus Stand and main street. Not too many tourists visited this part of the beach, so it was very interesting experience to swim in the ocean all alone. There were no waves in the early morning the most part of our stay, but during the day they usually became bigger, so you should be very careful while swimming, because the water is very strong and able to take you to the deep. The beach is mainly for locals and they don't pay a lot of attention to the garbage on the beach, but it was not very comfortable for us, so better to use the coral slippers to walk on the beach and swim. There was no garbage in the water, but some stones/coconuts/branches can be found. There few sunbeds stand on the beach and there is a guy, who cleans the beach in few meters from these sunbeds and collect some tips if you want to use them. Be careful with your belongings - don't leave anything w/o you attention - somebody stole our slippers and not only ours. If you are looking for the surfing - the main activity is located in front of the Mariott Hotel (the highest building).

Beautiful garden and pool area, exceptionally friendly and attentive staff (a special thanks to Sandun who took great care of us during our stay), wonderful à la carte breakfast, perfectly secluded villa (we stayed in Beach Hut Muhudu bella which is great for couples)

It was very close to the city center, and the host was very kind and helpful, even offering a free night's stay due to power outages in the area.

Pathum and his parents are really lovely people. I rented their room during my Ayurvedic retreat of 10 days. Pathums mom cooked delicious meals for me (because special nutrition during my treatment), his father had good talks with me and Pathum helped wherever he could. From renting a scooter to planing my upcoming trips. The room was clean and I had enough outdoor space to do my stuff. Location is super nice. With a scooter you get everywhere very quickly, but there is also a bus stop 5 min walk away, where you get everywhere very cheap. The Ayurvedic center Denuwala is also 5min walk away. Wild beach is close and beautiful! Lovely place.

Had the most amazing stay here at the home of Happi and Tiron, they were such amazing hosts, I extended to 8 days. Happi is the most lovely of hosts, she stopped for ages to chat to me about the local area. Nothing was too much trouble for both of them and she never stopped smiling 🌞 The area was perfect location just outside the busy hustle of Weligama, but still in front of the surf. I walked every morning just down the beach to Aftersurf rooftop for their sunrise smoothie bowl it was delicious. The Villa felt very secure and safe, the room was air conditioned and the bathroom very modern and up to date! The fact they are organising guests and cleaning the rooms themselves whilst also still building and maintaining the property is astounding! I cannot wait to see how beautiful this building will be once it’s finished, it has such character, and there will be great views from the new floor, I’m so excited for them, it’s so nice when you are giving your money to support such lovely peoples dreams whilst also having such a lovely stay. Thank you both for your hospitality! I cannot wait to come back and see the place in a few years time, all the best Nay 🙂
