JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 400 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. The staff and owner Arnold are super nice and friendly! Arnold helped us with everything from tour arrangements to restaurants suggestions! We absolutely enjoyed our stay in here!

Situated within 500 metres of Manda Beach and 500 metres of Shela Beach in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. Beautiful Swahili architecture and furnishings. The staff were warm and welcoming giving it a home away from home feeling.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. What a heavenly place. You will be staying in a house built in early 19th century by the governor appointed by the Sultan of Zanzibar alongside the fort of Lamu that's 5 meters away from the guesthouse (literally in the second most valuable building of the Lamu Town UNESCO site). The guesthouse has been renovated and meticulously filled with local hand-made furniture and decorations. You really can't take enough pictures of the place. It's like from 1001 nights. Just by staying there you are already experiencing Lamu to the fullest. The staff is friendly and smiling, including the Swedish host who may make you feel like you are her actual guest, not a client. The breakfast consists in half of products grown in an eco-farm 3 km away, owned by the same person, and in half of products sourced locally from other farmers. The host can organise a trip to the farm for you free of charge (she'll only ask you to tip the staff member who'll guide you). Out of all the places I have stayed in throughout my life, this one most deserves the title "exceptional".

Umma House has a terrace and is situated in Lamu, within just 300 metres of Lamu Museum and 500 metres of Lamu Fort. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Located in Shela, near Manda Beach and Mnarani House, Shiban House is a recently renovated property, featuring free WiFi, a fitness centre and terrace. The homestay features family rooms. Joseph and Mpanzi were very lovely and took good care of me. I enjoyed chatting with them and really felt like I had made new friends by the time I left. The house is large and clean and is well located in Shela. A very comfortable base to explore Lamu and its delights.

Set 300 metres from Lamu Fort, Beytsalam offers accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Complimentary WiFi is offered. The hotel was very clean and all the amenities were just as described The room was very spacious, the air condition and fan made it very comfortable. Jivanji was very hospitable and all the staff were very polite. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the ocean. A good variety of Swahili goodies.

The property is set 2.8 km from Lamu Fort. magic place, nice vibe perfectly located with super taste for decoration and details. staff was perfect, always smiling. breakfast just amazing!

Set within 100 metres of Lamu Museum and 200 metres of Lamu Fort in Lamu, Swahili Dreams Apartments offers accommodation with a kitchen. The design in this property is amazing, beautiful. The indoor pool is exquisite. The staff was excellent and the apartments large and comfortable.
