Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. We just loved our stay at Luck You. Traveling for the first time in Japan as a family of 4 (with two younger kids aged 8 and 11) it was not easy finding ryokans and hotels that were suitable. But Luck You met and exceeded all our expectations. It was in a convenient and central location close to many restaurants and cafes. We booked the premier room that slept four and we found it to be large, light and clean. The futons were fun to sleep on (especially for the kids) and they reasonably comfortable (for futons!). You can ask for a second futon layer if you prefer the extra padding. Breakfast was simple but sufficient, and there were western and more traditional Japanese options. Where Luck You exceeded our expectations was the customer service - all staff members were very helpful and friendly and were happy to go above and beyond to make our stay a special one. We also appreciated the little charming touches in and around the ryokan such as the exquisite flower arrangements and the beautiful cotton kimonos and traditional clogs/slippers for use inside. And the kids loved the "Happy Hour" when they could make their own hot chocolates and sit in the ryokan lounge of an evening. In sum, Luck You was by far our best accommodation experience overall and it was a lovely gentle introduction to Japanese culture. We will definitely return.

Well set in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Minn Sanjo is set less than 1 km from Shoren-in Temple, a 11-minute walk from Gion Shijo Station and 1.4 km from Heian Shrine. The hotel was new, clean and comfortable.

初音(はつね) is located in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, 1.5 km from Kyoto Station, 1.4 km from Gion Shijo Station and 2 km from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The property has perfect location. Its quiet and beautiful outside. The host, Kevin is a wonderful person - kind, funny and very helpful

Attractively set in the Higashiyama Ward district of Gionmachi, Minn Gion is situated 300 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, 600 metres from Gion Shijo Station and less than 1 km from Shoren-in Temple. Excellent location, very clean and the size of the room is much bigger than average in Japan. The kitchen was well equipped and the personnel always available upon request. I strongly recommend this place and do not hesitate to visit the small Nigiri food place opposite to Lawsons konbini just around the corner.

Located in Kyoto, 1.1 km from Nijo Castle and 1.7 km from the centre, Rinn Shiki Juraku provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a garden. This is a great place to stay for when you want to have your own private quiet space (and a bit more space than a typical hotel room), but still want to be cared for by hotel-like staff. We landed on this place because I wanted to stay in a typical Ryokan, but my husband wanted his own bathroom. It was the best stay of our Japan trip out of 3 hotels that were all far above average. It feels very secluded and private, there are around 10 apartments in total and everyone has their own entrance. There's a coin washing machine as well. There is a small breakfast buffet with really great coffee and they provide some free snacks during the day as well I believe. All in all it feels really kind and caring.

Located in the centre of Shimmachidōri, 1.1 km from Kyoto Imperial Palace and 1.6 km from Kyoto International Manga Museum, K-style gosyonishi provides air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and... Excellent location, 300m from metro (Kyoto bus w/luggage is a pain) so station is easy. Imperial palace is next door. Silent street. Host is friendly, room is indeed spacious, furnished tastefully. Lots of wall sockets. Microwave, fridge is good to have. Openable window, balcony.

Offering sea views, 舟宿 壱 is an accommodation located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine. Cleanliness, coziness, the facilities, the views, everything was excellent

In the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Kyoto International Manga Museum, 谷町君・星屋旅館・神泉ノ宿 二条城 has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. Everything was new and clean. Location is also good, close to Nijo castle and with good connection to other areas.
