Great value for a dune camp-you will pay a lot more for a similar experience, but you will miss out on Said's generous hospitality. The free pickup from the meeting point was greatly appreciated, as I only had a 2WD sedan. Said offers coffee, tea & dates all day, and was always available for a friendly chat. At night, he turns the camp lights off so you can lounge under the stars. The dinner package was delicious, and I assume breakfast was as well, but I brought my own. Before staying, you must know that dune camps involve a certain degree of rustic atmosphere (tents, bathroom stalls), so if you are looking for hotel luxury, then book a place for 10x the price (and it might be similar, anyway). If you want a memorable dune experience with a host who provides a warm welcome and honest value, book here!

The tents are spacious, clean and nicely decorated and so is the dining area. The staff is helpful, kind and efficient and agreeing pick up was really easy. The buffet was generous with a good and tasty selection of food. The camp offers activities like camel riding and dune safari. We enjoyed both very much. The greatest plus of this camp is that, compared to other structures who might have more of a hotel feel, gives the travellers a authentic and close to nature experience. We would go back and we will recommend it to family and friends.

It is a family run business, created by the father who died only 2 years ago and was a much loved desert conservationist and guide. We were beautifully looked after from the moment of pick up in Muscat by Abdullah for whom no request was too much trouble to our arrival in camp. He acts as the best guide, so you see and experience the very best of Omani hospitality. Rasheed manages the business and Hamid runs the camp very well to maken sure our desert experience is unique. We were lucky to have the whole desert camp to ourselves for the two nights, so we enjoyed private sundowners and stargazing without any interruptions! prompt morning pick-ups took us to a delicious breakfast in the main Nomandic camp. The whole camp has been thoughtfully designed to fit into the landscape with a totally natural feel. The tents are lined in colourful carpets to retain local design feel and comfortable beds. The camp is unique in every way and well worth the adventure. It is completely authentic. The whole team speak excellent english and Abdullah has a terrific sense of humour. We could not recommend a stay there more highly.

Located at the top of the dunes making sunsets and sunrises particularly accesible. The tents were made for a good nights sleep the authentic food was a treat. Fayez and the team made us feel at home. We will be back! Definitely the camp of choice if looking for a calm desert stay.

Exceptional sunset and sunrise. Our host gave us the pleasure of driving in the dunes, it was magnificent! We are delighted to have chosen this camp which is well isolated from the others! Situated in Al Ḩadd, 2.2 km from Al Hadd Beach, Ras Al Hadd Orchid features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. Featuring full-day security, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The host definitely made this stay so much better! Hé is very kind and prepared a wonderful diner and breakfast for us. He even showed us a baby turtle that got lost and made it to the guest house (turtle will be returned to sea ofcourse). You can easily go to the turtle reserve from here to go on a turtle tour. ( I would actually not recommend this as it is clearly a tourist trap and over 100 people will look at one turtle). The host can book a boat tour for the same amount, I wish we would’ve done that. Great stay!

Located 50 km from Wadi Bin Khalid, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Bidiyah-20 kms inside the desert from the village Al Hawaiyah. SAFARI-Glamping offers two private tents and 2 huts between the dunes in Sharqiyah sands. Our experience at Safari Glamping was really amazing. We tried a lot of delicious traditional food, rented quad bike from a nearby camp, which is owned by the same person, and he invited us for a dinner at this bigger camp, where we had the opportunity to speak with him about his life as a beduin. The host in our camp was really nice and helpful, prepared fire and a really good food for us and as we were lucky to be alone there, we had a chance to speak with him. The room was really clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We drove to the camp by our 4WD car and it was simple and without any problem. You just need to have your tires deflated beforehand. 100% recommended experience worth the money.
