I was originally supposed to only stay one night at Paloma Lodge from 6 Nov to 7 Nov, but because I enjoyed my stay here so much, I decided to extend for 4 more nights, only checking out on 10 Nov instead. Paloma Lodge is very well located, with only about 5 mins’ walk away from Siwan town centre where all the restaurants, cafés and shops are located. Apart from that, it’s only a stone’s throw away from a fresh water spring, where it’s perfect for an early morning or mid-afternoon swim. The host, Captain Nair, is super kind, warm and hospitable! He made me feel very welcomed and because I was a solo female traveller, he would check on me when I’m out later in the evening. In fact, he invited me to dinners at the lodge with lovely meals, either prepared by the good Captain himself, or his lovely housekeeper, Safie! The lodge is very tastefully decorated and kept very clean. The one-room apartment that I stayed in was very cosy and was sufficiently equipped with kitchen appliances, such as; electric kettle, toaster oven and a fridge. I will definitely stay at Paloma Lodge again, when I come back to Siwa!! It was a very enjoyable and cosy homestay which felt like you are with family. A home away from home.

Remote Location: Nestled in a tranquil local village, the ecolodge provides a peaceful retreat. However, its distance of 25 minutes from town and tourist sites may pose inconveniences. No restaurants or shops around. Home-Cooked Meals: The owner, a proficient cook, offers delectable home-cooked meals. It's worth noting that the menu's consistency varies and leans towards carbs, sugar, and fats due to the owner's vegan preferences. Under Construction: The ongoing construction indicates efforts to enhance the ecolodge, promising an improved experience in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights. We had dinner at the retreat once, and the dinner was exceptional. The owner cooks with the staff, and personally looks after his guests. It's a great spot for couples, very quiet, not crowded. A retreat in all meanings. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. My husband fell sick during this trip, and the owner was very helpful, he provided special food for him. The owner also arranges sight seeing tours for the guests when needed. Over-all, I plan on coming back to this place again.
