A lovely historic town with a great walk near the river. The closeness to Canberra was very beneficial as I heard Vivaldi, some Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Paganini played by the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne which consisted of 5 stringed instruments and a Spanish baritone soloist. I was lucky to have heard them in the Catholic Chapel. It was the highlight of my trip.

Yass is a super cute little country town with lots of character and cool old Victorian buildings. I'm a building and house creeper, so love wandering around local streets checking out the architecture. There are a few great cafes and restaurants, and a handful of shops - nothing too fancy. The Yass river provides some nice spots to hike or picnic and the town has a handful of interesting historic places.

Nice town with all needed. Was our half way stop to sydney. Hamilton Hume motel was great value and clean. Recommend. Bowling club had great food even though the outside looked un inviting the staff were great and food was great value.

It's a lovely town, with magnificent buildings.
It's a lovely town, with magnificent buildings. We tried the Soldiers Club for a meal, and it was good. Last time we went to a pub, and that was good too. We had afternoon tea at the bakery again. Great place to stop for the night, and a lovely walk into town across the bridge.

I booked very late driving up the highway and was worried we would be jammed in a small space with uncomfy beds, but it was totally the opposite. Nice quiet spot, really comfy beds, lovely shower, nice and clean room with a surprising amount of space (we had a queen and two singles). A bonus was an easy stroll to the river for a morning jog along a well maintained path. Yass was a great spot to stop.
