Not much to comment/complain when you have a night or 2 stay. Room we stayed was decent sized, however we needed to keep windows open for fresh air. Decent breakfast.

Located close to old town and the lake. Nice comfortable room with 2 chairs and a small table. At breakfast as well as the buffet they will cook you fresh a boiled egg or fried egg with bacon. Provided umbrellas and a Lucerne card so we could use the public transport. The front desk were helpful especially the gentleman on in the evening who organised some tickets for us.
The 3-star Hotel DES ALPES is ideal for city travelers. It is located directly on the Reuss River in the picturesque, car-free old town of Lucerne right next to the world-famous Chapel Bridge.
The Ibis Luzern-Kriens offers a quiet yet central location at the foot of Mount Pilatus, next to the A2 motorway and only a few minutes away from Lucerne.

In a welcome note the manager said "welcome to our little paradise by the lake" and it certainly was. The view was perfect, the staff so so welcoming and the perfect location for touring the area (we even got as far as Grindelwald on one day trip). Our breakfast each morning was lovely and really set us up for the day. The hotel has a beautiful garden to relax in for morning coffee or an evening drink. we only had dinner once in the hotel but it was superb, I would give it a food guides star!!
Finally and to mention the staff again, they made our perfect stay a fantastic stay.......thank you so much.
