I stayed in the attic room - which is just an attic, very small but had the most stupendous view. So that made up for the tight quarters and shared bathroom. Loved that they had free parking right in front. The breakfast was very good in the morning. The staff was super friendly.

A beautiful, well run hotel with stunning views in an exceptional town. We were recommended this hotel by a friend and we were not disappointed. It is a comfortable walk from the train station and right around the corner (steps away) from an indian, asian and an italian restaurant. We had the very best Ramen in that tiny Asian restaurant. There are also many other traditional Swiss restaurants within the immediate vicinity.
The breakfasts at the hotel were lovely and the service friendly and attentive.
The walks around this town should blow your mind.
Having walked the town extensively we would choose this hotel again, upon a return visit.

We stayed in the chalet attached to Hotel Stechelberg, so big and comfortable. Photographs do not do it justice, such a beautiful place. Snow capped mountain all year round, surrounded by blue skies, mountains, green fields and wild flowers. Witnessed some of the farming activity in an UNESCO region - farmer moving his cows to higher grounds, well worth seeing. Hay making, cutting the meadows, baling, wrapping bales etc. We did one of the walks around the bottom of the mountain and went to Trummelbach-Falle. Rivers so clean, you can see the pebbles and stones. Really caters for all age groups. Public transport punctual.MaryIreland

The location is a quick walk away from the bus stop, but far enough away from the usual touristy areas in Lauterbrunnen that the hotel retains much of its natural beauty and quiet charm. The owner was extremely nice and gave us 4 Francs to use the hot showers for nothing in return. The accommodations are simple but more than sufficient for hikers, sightseers, and adventurers. Location of the hotel is just perfect - through your window you wake up and see the 470 waterfall with its water spreading around. Kids loved to see also few landing helicopters hear the hotel during the first day of our stay. Location was very quiet - hotel is just at the end of the car allowed road coming from Lauterbrunnen. Restaurant was also great - big portions of everything but what we really loved were the soups. Great Gulash served there! :) We did not want our vacation to end and for sure we will visit again!

From my room's window I could see one of those great waterfalls Lauterbrunnen valley is famous for. Room size and cleanliness were ok and common WC and shower also. Wi-FI connection was good. The hotel has a restaurant with a pleasant garden to dine outside and that's the only option to eat if you don't want to go to Lauterbrunnen (7 km away). The Postal Bus stop is just 50 metres from the hotel.

The place was beautifully quiet and very old school like it has a basement kitchen and a dining room and even a lift for food. The place was very antiquey and had a very nice aura about it. We could also check in at anytime which was a bonus! Highly recommend staying here for some peace and quiet!

We fell asleep to the sound of cow bells and waterfalls every evening. We also ate at the restaurant a couple of times and it was quite good! Much quieter on this side of the valley and I prefer it to other parts of Lauterbrunnen. I will stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area!

The chalet is located at the end of the road in Stechelberg, so you don't have much traffic. The hotel restaurant is about 50m from the chalet. The chalet itself has a terrace with unbeatable panoramic view of the mountains including Breithorn. This is an ideal place for relaxation or hiking or both. Highly recommended!
