This was a magical place to stay in El Chorro! Amazing views out the door, walking distance to the train station and restaurant, comfortable bed, lots of light, and hot shower. Felt very cozy and I really enjoyed my time there, was my favorite place to stay in town for hiking El Caminito del Rey.

There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel.
Or 40 minutes late, meaning you missed your connection and then had a wait of 4 hours or return to El Chorro.

Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. There are a couple of other interesting walking trails starting in el Chorro. Parking can be a problem.

We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.

Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
Charming, well maintained hotel in a stunning location.
We were a group of friends traveling together and stayed in a 2 bedroom unit.
The room was totally fine but it would have been good to know before booking that the walls in the unit don’t go all the way to the ceiling (not even the bathroom room ones). The gap is really wide - no privacy possible.

An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing.
An incredible place for climbing, walking or just relaxing. We loved it and it’s so accessible from Málaga. The scenery is breathtaking. Walking the Caminito Del Rey is a must if you’re in the area...I was nervous as I don’t like heights but I’m so pleased to have conquered my fears...it was utterly thrilling. The area is packed with things to do and places to see. We’ll be. Back!

El Chorro is a great location to stay if you are doing The Caminito del Rey as it is at the end of the walk and far less busy than Ardales (the starting location). It is also a great base for walking, hiking and climbing. The surrounding mountains and countryside are fabulous and it is definitely worth staying an extra night to enjoy the surrounding areas. The nearby town of Antequera is very interesting and should not be missed whilst you are in the area.
We visited El Chorro for rock climbing vacation and El Chaparro was a perfect place to stay!! House has everything you need and just a short drive from the turnoff to one of the most popular crags in the area. Views from the house were also amazing! Hosts were easy to get a hold of and took care of is immediately when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house.
I’d love to visit El Chorro again, and I’ll definitely stay here when we do!
The place is a dream. During our stay there was peace and quiet. Every day we had breakfast watching hills and the sun coming over the horizon. The location is amazing to get to any climbing locations in El Chorro. You can watch the clouds roll over Escalera Arabe.
The host is very friendly and we had lovely chats everyday!
We also have to mention a cat who is the loveliest creature.
We miss it already.
The location was excellent for our purposes, which were to explore the rock climbing opportunities around El Chorro. The host was extraordinarily responsive and helpful. The internet/wifi connection was great. Parking was easy and convenient. The building itself has a historic feel and some may see it as rustic, but we enjoyed the sense of connection to the area’s history.
Excellent location, especially for climbing but also only a short walk to El Chorro. We had a lovely view of the sun rise every morning. The villa had a nice rustic feel and was generally comfortable. The hosts went above and beyond, shopping for us in Alora as we didn't have a rental car and were very friendly.
Its a climbers and campers paradise. Although we are bikers, everyone was pretty friendly and easy to talk too. The place is a 15 min walk away from the Camino Del Ray shuttle bus, so if you're doing that hike thats great. Also they sell pretty cheap booze if you want to relax at the pool with a drink.

Our host was very friendly and giving. We enjoyed the location and the climbing in the area. Don’t forget to say Hi to Cheesepa the dog (she’s shy but we saw her wag her tail when she thought we weren’t looking) and Looney the cat. loved picking oranges and lemons just outside our door.
Basic but clean and had everything we needed.
Pellet burner was a bonus.
The shower was fantastic and the location was tip top with great access to climbing and the caminito del ray.
Full fridge freezer, hob and oven made for a great self catering experience.
Cosy rustic house with a modern well equipped kitchen in proximity of the El Chorro climbing area. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The house was very neat and reasonably comfortable. We would definitely consider it again in the future.
A fantastic house in a beautiful location. Our host was friendly and very welcoming. This is and ideal location for Rock climbing, in fact Roccabella crag was only 50 metres away. We will be returning as soon as possible.
Our room was very comfortable, with warm bedding for the cool weather during our visit. The view was lovely from the first floor. The dining room was friendly, the staff helpful and the food was okay too.
Cosy, clean, well equipped house. Walking distance to much of the climbing and El Chorro centre. Really nice owner Ela who takes really good care of the guests and helps out if you have any questions.
Very quaint old house set into the hillside which has been renovated beautifully, great views of the mountains and walking access to some of the climbing areas directly through the pine forest
Jolanda and Frank is a very good host couple. They were very helpfull and nice. We stayed only a few nights but will recommend the place especially in warm weather when you can use the pool.
