Everything about Craggan was a 10/10. The attention to detail and hospitality is the best we’ve ever experienced (we’re avid travellers). The rooms are very clean, tidy and very spacious with everything you could possibly need and more. We even got freshly baked cakes every day … delicious!
We would come back in a heartbeat… Martyn, Louise and Monty (their labrador dog) have made our experience unforgettable.
Also, the breakfast is phenomenal and one of our highlights are Craggan!

Ballater is a lovely little town, very close to the Balmoral Estate so excellent location if you are planning to visit the Castle and grounds of the royal estate. It has an excellent selection of restaurants, coffee shops and boutique / gift shops to choose from. Ballater is a beautiful historic town.
Ballater is a beautiful historic town. It has lovely architecture, a Victorian train station where Queen Victoria used to travel to. Lots of restaurants, pubs, and the townspeople are very nice. It's close to Balmoral and was a perfect location to drive around and see the sites.

Quaint little village with just enough amenities with plenty of activities in and around the place. There's a coop shop for groceries, and some nice restaurant choices too. There's a small petrol station here as well so it's useful for fuelling up if you plan to drive any great distance. I'd happily come back here, but it's a small place so it's limited in some ways if you plan to stay for any great length of time. We ate from two restaurants here, the New Shanghai Chinese takeaway, and the Alexandra Hotel restaurant. Both were very satisfying meals and good value for money, and I'd happily come back to both. Lovely picturesque village in Royal Deeside. Shop fronts, the streets and the buildings are immaculately kept. Has many great places to eat and drink. Great walk along the old Deeside railway line. I went on a drench November midweek day, so there wasn't a lot happening, but the surroundings are nice. We eloped in Scotland just the two of us and the staff made weverything perfect for us and nothing was too mulch trouble for us, please all remember to be kind to us hospitality staff we put our heart and soul into our work and work very long hours! I can not rate this property enough, the suites are fantastic and so clean and spacious! We will no doubt definitely be returning!

The ensuite room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and well appointed. I appreciated the real ale in the hotel bar and the excellent breakfast. I didn't have an evening meal there as they were fully booked, but the fact that all tables were fully booked in low season shows that the local folk rate the food highly, I'll book in advance next time. Overall a very comfortable stay and no issues at all - many thanks!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The free car parking was not provided by the Auld Kirk, but there is free parking right outside on the road which was good. We had a really good night's stay and would definitely recommend.
