Belper is a lively place. Full of industrial history and lots of community stuff going on. Some good bus connections and a railway station too. Plenty of place to shop, eat, drink. Maybe not too many places to stay so worth a browse while planning a visit.

Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes.
Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes. It is also served by a train station, with regular trains to Matlock, Nottingham, Derby etc.
The River Derwent runs through Belper and there are river walks as well as a river garden, with a cafe and boating facilities.
Belper is within easy reach of a lot of other very scenic places in Derbyshire, and as such is highly recommended as a base from which to explore.

Belper is a fine place to visit.
Belper is a fine place to visit. The town - a World Heritage site - has a fascinating and well-preserved industrial history. We enjoy walking and there are plenty of enjoyable walks in the countryside around Belper and, for anyone who fancies traveling further afield, the Peak District National Park is just a short car, bus or train ride away. And, for a town of its size, Belper is blessed with a surprisingly good choice of restaurants and pubs

Great market town with a comprehensive list of facilities...
Great market town with a comprehensive list of facilities and local shops. Good travel connections as on the A6 and has a bus and rail station. Worth a visit as a day out, or as a hub to visit further afield within Derbyshire. Lots of different eateries, we had dinner in The Devonshire which was tasty and to a high standard. Lots of pubs to suit all tastes, would definitely visit again. Best to avoid Mondays as some shops and cafes are closed due to opening on a Sunday.
What a fab stay we had. Sharon and Edward are such perfect hosts that we felt like we’d come to visit friends. The room was spotless, comfortable, modern and roomy with a lovely large en-suite bathroom. Shower powerful, use of Prime TV and excellent Wi-Fi too. Lovely view over the fields and loved watching the sheep and lambs running about. Breakfast delicious with a great choice. The full English was to die for. Very handy for visiting our family in Belper. Plenty of parking. Will definitely be returning. Thank you Sharon and Edward.
Lovely apartment in a great location to access all the facilities of Belper town. Free parking a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. Host Susan was there to meet us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. The apartment was very clean and tastefully decorated. Everything we needed for our short stay was provided.
This stay exceeding our expectations. The room had all the facilities you would want and was immaculately clean. The staff were all very friendly, the location is great and a great light continental breakfast to have in or takeaway. Great value for money - would recommend and would stay again if we are in the area
loved the place vannessa was very friendly, in a good location very near park and a little countryside walk. Also very handy for belper town centre which is about a 15 minute walk. Loved the welcome goodies which included a bottle of wine ,, milk and bread. Only blemish which is only a minor one no caffetiere
Location was perfect for us, very friendly and helpful staff, you must try their Indian restaurant the food was great.
The accommodation was brilliant, I would definatly stay at this hotel again.
(This hotel is now called the Elephant and Peacock, we drove past it due to looking out for The Strutt Arms )
Warm, well decorated engaging rooms full of imaginative extras such as Yorkshire tea . Very warm welcome from the very friendly team who can't do enough for you . Exceptionally good breakfast, hot , made to order with locally sourced products . Very good location, close to Belper
Excellent location. Sue the owner met me on arrival to hand over the keys. She also gave me lots of useful information about the area. Lots of little extras such as wine, water, milk and juice. Toiletries and cleaning products also provided. Lovely fluffy towels.
I like the amenities and the bed was comfortable. It was a nice stay and the staff were friendly and always there to help.
I was worried about the music being loud and not being able to sleep but the hotel was quite quiet considering there's music and a bar
The accommodation is comfortable, well-equipped and perfectly located for exploring Belper and its surroundings. The town centre, with its many shops, bars and restaurants is just a few minutes' walk away, as is Belper's railway station
We knew from the photographs what we were going to get so we were entirely satisfied. We very rarely eat cooked breakfasts and resent the high charges for breakfasts at some hotel chains, so what was provided was more than sufficient.
Superb local pub set in beautiful countryside but within easy reach of Belper. Charming interior, lovely courtyard and gardens, ample parking, comfortable room, friendly welcoming staff, good pub food.
A lovely pub very homely and welcoming. Picturesque little village of Holbrook just outside Belper, an amazing location. Very nice room, peaceful and quiet, had a great stay.
