Nik The Greek, hotel in Burry Port

Nik The Greek is situated in the heart of Burry Port, a small seaside town with a harbour that is located midway between Swansea and Carmarthen, on the main Swansea-Tenby railway line.

Excellent price, room was as described in size, but price reflected that. Very clean, bathroom separate as described but a private, it was excellent just the next room along and was decorated to a very high standard which I would have been happy with in any hotel. Unfortunately could not try Niks greek restaurant which was closed Monday and Tuesday but a takeaway opposite, and the room does have cutlery plates dishes and mugs so easy to eat inside.

    Very basic small port town.

Very basic small port town. Plenty of trains going through North & South and to Manchester Airport. Very nice harbour area with a bit of history abd many yacts berthed. Emelia Erhardt landed there. UK's oldest (non operating) metal lighthouse. First Electroplating company/business founded there mid 1800's whose owners funded buildings churches and schools. Air Force base practices landings on the beach. Very nice walking areas opposite town. Went to a Pub out of town to eat.

Found the people really friendly and helpful. The beach was nice. Local for the places we wanted to visit and shops, takeaways beach etc within walking distance. There are some lovely walks again within walking distance and Pembre country park is not far.

Gorgeous small seaside town, more a village really, but has everything you could need, even a launderette which is unusual in such a compact place, and a fabulous expanse of beach, and great walking areas. Lots of places to eat and drink, a few supermarkets for all your requirements. Excellent fish & chip shops! All the locals we interacted with were so friendly, they seem very happy to chat with visitors to their lovely town. Excellent railway station with frequent services and free public toilets, which also serve the shopping area. One of the nicest Welsh coastal towns I've stayed in, highly recommended. The only slight disappointment was a lack of public seating and shaded spots, it was roasting hot when we were there and hard to get out of the sun.

I would recommend a trip to Pembrey country park.

I would recommend a trip to Pembrey country park. It’s a huge free park with great walks and beautiful scenery. We played mini golf and there is also a toboggan run if you are feeling brave. We walked through the park onto the beach and then back into Burry Port. It’s a long walk with beautiful sand dunes lining the route. Burry Port itself is quite small but there are some nice independent shops and a very good bakery next to the train station. Be careful not to get caught by the tide on Burry Port beach. We got caught on a large island of sand and had to wade back to shore through waist deep water. We were not in any danger but it’s worth pointing out. The tide comes in fast and you can find yourself marooned on an island of sand.

Burry Port is not the first place you would think of to go on holiday. It is not over commercialised and has a railway line running through it and a station BUT the beach and harbour would definitely be worth the stay. We've only been for a weekend and then to visit relatives further away but we could happily stay in town if we had time. The beach is sandy and dog friendly and not far from the main part of town. An easy walk even for someone like me, overweight and finds walking a challenge. The local pub seems very popular and the landlord welcoming - he likes dogs too. It was spilling into the road on our visit this weekend. Nik the Greek has a great restaurant and there's also a good Pizzeria and a wonderful cake shop. We stayed in a flat on the corner on our first visit and it was lovely well priced accommodation. Our second visit was to a flatlet above Nik the Greek's restaurant and it was very good too. Plenty of room for a couple + 1 for a weekend. All the accommodation was sensibly priced and exceeded our expectations.

a charming port town with lots of choices for eating in or out with the kids. Great little sweetie shop with plenty of seaside equipment and gift options. The local RNLI was open and proved popular for gifts too. The beach is long and clean with beautiful sand. Locals all v friendly.

From the moment we walked into the Caulfields Hotel we loved it! The accommodation was lovely, much better and bigger than the photos show. Nice treats on arrival and essentials in the fridge. Caroline and staff went the extra mile by sorting us out with a fab meal whilst entertaining a private function. We had a lovely two days in Burry Port...we definately chose the best place to stay.

David looked after us really well nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very substantial! immaculately clean throughout the property. It’s located right in the heart of Burry Port with lots of eateries nearby and the beach & harbour a short walk away. Well worth a visit, we would return if we go that way again. Keep up the good work David 😊

Lounge and kitchen modern and spacious. Nice decor and throws on beds and sofas. Lovely little patio for my husband to smoke! Great views of the sea, 2 nice pubs very near (less than a minute's walk!) Was visiting Wales for a wedding, so Burry Port was in the perfect location to travel to the Diplomat Hotel. 10 mins drive.

The cottage was fresh and clean. Plenty of towels. The view over the bay from the main bedroom is fabulous. There is also an amazing view from the upper terrace that looks over the house. Many nice restaurants and pubs in Burry Port within 5-10 minutes walk - but book ahead if you can.

The location in Burry Port was perfect for us, for cycling and amenities. Off road parking would have been a bonus, but not essential. The weather was exceptionally good, so we made full use of the hot tub each day. Two bathrooms made a difference as that’s what we’re used to at home!
