Rockvale house is a very comfortable b&b, the owners have a wonderfully personable and professional manner~ the perfect pitch to feel comfortable, looked after and at ease whilst staying at a b&b. Absolutely fabulous location, safe parking included. Gregg and Jacqui were lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. Cake on arrival, fresh milk if you wanted it. The room was very nice, spotlessly clean. We didn’t use the car for the couple of days that we visited, perfect walks from the door and an array of very nice restaurants on an evening. Will definitely visit again.
With free Wi-Fi throughout and free parking on site, The Fox and Goose is situated on the edge of the beautiful Exmoor National Park.

Every aspect of my stay was outstanding: a squeaky clean and well-appointed large room; an immaculate bathroom with up-to-date features. I regret already having dinner elsewhere because, given the high quality of my breakfast, I clearly missed out. As I said to the owners, my fresh fruit breakfast bowl with unsweetened muesli and yoghurt, followed by a Full Exmoor (perfect, non-rubbery scrambled eggs; wilted cherry tomatoes, etc.) was like being invited round by a friend who's a gourmet chef.

A great part of the country with some excellent hill walking and great country pubs. We highly recommend The Blue Ball Inn and the Stag Hunters Inn. The walk from Countisbury Hill car park down to Lynmouth should only be undertaken by experienced walkers as it is quite strenuous and treacherous at some points. The views in the area are stunning.

It's a walker's paradise.
It's a walker's paradise. Lots of trails with an exceptional variety of vistas. Well worth the trip. Lynmouth down in the valley is also charming off season, as is Lynton. (We have been in the Autumn and it was a bit too 'busy' for our liking and lost some of its considerable charm.

If you like being stuck out in the sticks, no reception and WiFi. Roads that can easily kill you then this is the place for you. Make sure you pack plenty of food, if your nerves allow you to you won’t mind driving and playing chicken with traffic for essentials.
