Kirsteen, runs a lovely B & B accommodation and makes her guest feel most welcome from the time you pull up on the drive. The accommodation was clean and had all we needed. The location is excellent looking out over the Loch. we requested a ground floor bedroom as we did not wnat to use a spiral staircase.
The breakfast selection was continental and as good as most hotel serve. with the biggest selection of cereals we have ever had.
There are also some lovely restaurants in Lochinver but you need to book We ate in Peets which was really good. Most restaurants are struggling with staffing so may not be taking bookings to fill all their covers, so make contact before travelling if you can.

Nice small town (village?), with everything you need.
Nice small town (village?), with everything you need. Shops, restaurants, a bank is coming 2 times a week on wheels, but ATM and paying by card is no novelty there. ;-) Nice people, everyone is greating everyone. Best for hiking the surroundings, I will sure come back for sure.

A small coastal town well worth using as a base for a few days to explore the west coast. A variety of restaurants, coffee shops and tourists shops to explore. A great location for walking tracks and some beautiful beaches. Beware the single track roads, some of them they can be narrow in spots! but every seems to drive slowly which is good :) We were there in mid-September and the northern lights were visible one evening, a lovely bonus.

A small fishing village but with all the amenities - petrol, snack food, restaurants - that any traveller could wish for. Close to the famous Suilven mountain that is accessible via a moorland path and then some climbing. I ate at Delilah's and was not disappointed with either the food - delicious burger - and drink - craft lager. The harbour looks too big, but I gather they do unlad some large quantities of fish here. Not many midges (late August) but often cloud-covered. However, one has to make the most of the weather and predict when the rain will come. All the shops and other amenities within easy walking distances and many re-cycling stations.

Lochinver is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Nestled on the beautiful north western coast and surrounded by spectacular mountains and lochs with an endless array hiking trails to enjoy. The coastal views are amazing as there are rocky outcrops and islands of various shapes and sizes. Self catering is the best option but there are a number of eating places in Lochinver with a good range of options. Road links are surprisingly good given the location but if you want to go off and explore there are many smaller single track roads to take you on an adventure just watch out for the many mobile homes and converted vans that you may encounter.

The space in the Smithy was delightful and very comfortable.
The space in the Smithy was delightful and very comfortable. We could have stayed in all day enjoying the wood burning stove and the array of books and CDs! Everything was provided for two people, and the beds were the best we experienced in our 10 day visit to the Scottish highlands!
Beautiful old coastguard station in a fantastic location. Perfect for a couples getaway in the Highlands! Facilities were fab, the shower was great and the bed was really comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed too.
Just a short walk away from Lochinver so easy to pick up bits from the local shop and pies from the Lochinver Larder!
Steph and Keith were great, excellent communication before and during our stay including some great recommendations for nearby walks and wild swims.
Highly recommend a stop here!
Great place for a one night stopover on the NC500. Typical US style hotel room, decent size, good bed, great bathroom, nice view. But it’s not charming or special in any way. Need a car, it’s not talking distance to town. Would stay again as there is very few decent lodgings in the area. Lochinver is a perfect stop over. Had the best Langoustines at Peet’s and did the seal boat trip. Picked up dinner for the next night at a AirB&B from Lochinver larder. Close to Achmelvich beach a must see.
Lovely spacious accommodation. We were lucky enough to get the 2 bedroom self contained 'wing' of the main house. Views over Lochinver were great. John was a lovely, friendly host. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was warm and the supplied continental breakfast was huge, plenty of choice and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. Can highly recommend Caisteal Liath house for anyone looking for something a bit more personal and comfortable than a hotel. It's also great value for money.
Stunning views, watching sky and sea change. Mountains in background.
Occasional sheep bleating, sound of wind and waves.
Stylish, Cosy, very comfortable pod with great energy, feeling of peace
Highly recommend the area and accomodation
Drive from Lochinver narrow, harrowing in rain but glad I returned same way. Scenery well worth it
As were Lochinver larder pies. Closed Sunday
We LOVED our stay at Ardmore House and really didn’t want to leave! We arrived at sundown and were greeted by Jo and a doe with her little fawn. Our room was very clean and charming - as was the common area/breakfast room. Jo offered us a delicious breakfast and even shared some of her recipes. We left wishing we had more time to explore the area and stay at Ardmore House.
We had a great stay at the Albannach. The host is very hospitable and helpful. The suite was fantastic, comfortable, and very spacious. What stands out is the lovely home-cooked breakfast we were served every morning. Absolutely brilliant. We were sorry to leave after 2 nights as there are so many things to explore in the area as well.
A whiskey offered on arrival, large room, great shower, fridge with fresh milk, generous continental breakfast brought to the room in a large basket. Access to a guest lounge area. Fabulous views with deer and highland cattle grazing just outside the window. Our host was helpful in suggesting where to eat for an evening meal.
Wonderful little cottage. Perfect location for a NC500 stopover just outside Lochinver. Very friendly and attentive host. Comfortable single beds (which is sometimes a rarity). Great bathroom. Not too far from the cliffs and lighthouse which make for a stunning sunset view. Would love to come back for longer!
We were greeted by our very nice host, who also gave us good restaurant pointers. We liked the sitting area in front of the upstairs bedroom, good homecooked breakfast. Bonnie Haven is in a great location overlooking Lochinver and we would go there again on our next Scotland tour.
Amazing hospitality! Beautiful breakfast with homemade bread. Very comfortable beds and the host even made us dinner as all local restaurants where shut at this time of year. Could not fault this B&B and would highly recommend for anyone traveling to the beautiful Lochinver area.
We had a wonderful stay! The place is comfortable and cosy. Dave and Caren are just lovely, made us feel at home. They are also very informative and adviced us daily on things to do in the area. The breakfast was excellent and the room had beautiful view over the harbor.
Mary and Mark were incredibly helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and their daughters restaurant/food van served fabulous local seafood. We climbed a few local peaks and had a wonderful stay in Lochinver.
This hotel, (B&B) epitomises peace, tranquillity and comfort, recently renovated run by the lovely couple who are clearly passionate about hosting, felt at home immediately and the breakfast is beautifully prepared, nutritious and delicious!
Location was perfect, a safe, pleasant 15 min walk into Lochinver, which had lots of excellent amenities.
It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed and lovely sitting/eating area. Decking area was perfect with great views.
Excellent, informative hosts of a lovely home with beautiful views over the water in a convenient location in Lochinver with parking at your door. They even provide snacks and a lovely set of breakfast choices.
Topclass B&B with the high standards akin with the best hotels. lovely attention to detail. Dave and Carron were exceptional in every way, food, room and highland knowledge. thank you
Absolutely fabulous views. Food was great. Staff were welcoming. Extremely helpful, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and recommended places to stop and visit.
