The Derby Hotel, hotel in Rampside

The family-run Derby Hotel is situated in the heart of Barrow-in-Furness, less than half a mile from the Rail Station.

The room was clean but definitely needed a spruce up. The ceiling paint above the bed was peeling and flaking off. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of items to make a few brews.

Lovely, spacious room with a very comfy bed. Tea/coffee facilities with biscuits. Nice bathroom with shower and a bath which was great as I love a bath. Very good breakfast in the morning. And our evening meal was also excellent all at great value for money.

Rampside is best approached via the coat road from Ulverston - superb views all the way. Continue through Rampside and take the causeway road to Roa Island, visit the RNLI Station and shop, take the ferry to Piel Island. Great views all around.
