Loved the surrounding area (with the alpacas). The room & bed were both super comfortable to stay in. Really enjoyed all the little touches in the decor and the services provided (cake in the afternoon, breakfast was amazing, great recommendations of nearby restaurant, the mini bar had tons of options). Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very close to the deepest lake in England - would definitely come back and stay here!

We stayed in one of the lodges and wow it was perfect. Cleaned daily all the facilities you needed. The view was just stunning. Breakfast was included and great choice available. Catered for allergies well as I'm coeliac it can be an issue but they had gluten free breakfast on menu
Ate in evening x2 food was lovely again gluten free, vegetarian and vegan catered for. Plenty of choice. Staff always friendly and polite will definitely be booking in here next time we visit family.

Santon Bridge has a lovely pub where we had a delicious home cooked meal. There are also tea rooms but we didn’t visit that. The drive to Gosforth village is around 15/20 mins (where there is a well stocked Budgens, pubs, restaurant and delightful coffee shop.)
The surrounding country roads are mainly quiet but there are many sharp bends and narrow places with single lane passing places.
