Was very organised in terms of access. All facilities perfect for an over night stay. Fantastic price. Very grateful.
Wendover looked really fresh and welcoming. Better than when I was there before the pandemic.
Amazing Thai restaurant at the George and Dragon. The waitress remembered, to the letter and person, the order from 8 people and the food was fab.

Wendover is a very picturesque small town with lots of good restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Ridgeway Path goes through Wendover and this stretch of the path is very beautiful in that it traverses through some varied woodlands. It is also a great base for visiting other places of interest, such as the Natural History Museum in Tring.

It's in a beautiful part of the country (soon to be ruined by HS2 unfortunately) and there is plenty of access to great walks on Coombe Hill NT property, Wendover Woods - complete with Skywalk - as well as the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal towpaths. Other NT properties are nearby.
Loved the historic building, the staff were wonderful , the food was excellent we are there every night at our favourite table. The bed was super comfy once you 'climbed' into it, my partner had a lovely birthday surprise made by the chef with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate. The hotel is right in the centre of Wendover with ample private parking, our room was at the front In the old building. The character of the building has been kept, we even got a hug on leaving!!!!
The room was fantastic and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly. The menu was very good with a decent amount to choose from. Fairly expensive as pub food goes, but all very nice. A good choice of wines, beers and spirits. Overall a very pleasant stay. If we were to go to this area again we would definitely use this hotel. The breakfast was really nice and plentiful. Choice of eggs, poached, fried or scrambled. Also, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and yoghurts.
We stayed in 4 hotels over a 7 night period with the rooms all costing the same amount +/- £5. Rooms in this hotel had been refurbished and were well equipped with fridge and Dyson air cooler which we were grateful for as it was a really warm day. Low level night light in the en-suite was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and the location of the room meant it was quiet after pub closing time with no road noise so we had a good nights sleep.
Excellent stay. Beautiful room very clean and comfortable. Large bathroom spotless clean. Had everything you could need. Small fridge for drinks in room.
Breakfast was brilliant nothing too much trouble.
Owner very helpful with information on the area. Short walk into wendover with its many cafe pubs and independent shops
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Loved the ambiance. The food menu was not to our taste. Although the breakfast was good. Only thing missing was porridge. Loved our room. Shame the safety rail fell off the door. Just as well it was me and not my partner who has mobility problems which is why we had an accessable room.. Staff were very friendly and approachable.
Our room in main bldg was great. However, our two rooms for our adult children in the adjacent building both had strong unpleasant smells of mustiness with a hint of sewer. Not sure why. Service in dining room very accommodating and the bar was cosy and relaxing.
We were walking the Ridgeway and the Red Lion was an ideal overnight stop before the last section to Ivinghoe Beacon. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good pub dinner with nice selection of beers and a varied choice of breakfasts.
Immaculately clean. very comfortable bedroom. The home was modern and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, freshly made. The host Susanna was very friendly. Overall I had a fantastic stay.
The room was large, very clean and a huge bed. Lots of nice extras in the room like coffee pods, biscuits a small glass of sloe gin each. Very quiet and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices.
Everything was excellent! We had a lovely stay in Wendover. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Location was great too - super quiet but still close to the village centre.
Great hotel. lovely, friendly staff. Excellent room and delicious breakfast. A great touch - the free gin and the ‘night cap’ on the landing. The Dyson fan in the room was also a real bonus.
Beautiful and comfortable house, very welcoming host, fabulous breakfast. Location excellent for the Ridgeway, the town of Wendover (which is lovely!) and all local amenities.
