the food at the rams head inn was excellent, there was a good choice of both hot and cold food for breakfast, the dinner menu offered fish, meat and vegetarian options and all was cooked to perfection.

I was delighted with the large and comfortable room I had for my stay. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was very comfy and I was also impressed by how quiet the location was. The fact that there is no evening meal available didn't really impact my stay and there is the option to eat any takeaway food in the dining area. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. I found all the staff friendly and helpful. All in all a great place and excellent value for money.
The White Hart Hotel provides accommodation in the centre of the west Devon town of Okehampton. A 3-minute drive from Okehampton Train Station, there's a bar on the premises.

The staff were great throughout - from the receptionist to the cleaners - polite and friendly. Room was spotless. Lovely private shower room.
Room was next to pub garden, but the windows kept the sound out very well.
Children’s artwork dotted around - different and liked.
Dinner was great there! Staff were enjoying their job and having a jolly time, including all the chefs - rarely see this!
Breakfast - classic Spoons. Quality and decent price. Still one of my favourites! You won’t be disappointed!
Just up the hill from the hotel, there’s a place that rents bikes. If you get there early enough you can hire an electric bike for £35 until 15:30! Bargain and great fun! I will never ride a human powered bike ever again!

25 minute drive from Roadford Lake - which was an accidental find! Walked for an hour, but could have kept going! Stunning scenery.

The views are amazing. The facilities and activities are exceptional- I wish we had booked a longer stay to participate more. Without exception, all the staff were helpful and very friendly.

Pretty village in the heart of rural Devon with good local pubs, a florist, post office, butchers, vets, convenience store and a friendly atmosphere. Thatched rooves, church bells, country lanes and scarecrows!
We really enjoyed visiting the Wooley Animal Farm nearby where we walked alpacas and fed the farm animals. We also visited Winkleigh Woods, Haldon Nature Reserve, Dartmoor, Oakhampton, Castle Drogo and the nearby Gorge. Plenty more to do next time we visit!

If I had to say anything negative it would just be the lanes to get to the property are so tight but I guess thats to be expected to get to such a little gem of a property.

Small but pretty village, convenience store good, good food and drink at King's Arms pub, friendly local people, not too far away from popular tourist attractions such as the Tarka Trail, Westward Ho beach, historic towns and easy access to woodland and country walks.

Not a lot in the village, shop poorly stocked. Pub great but if you’ve got a dog you can only have bar snacks in bar area. Tea rooms not open at all while we were there. Had to drive a lot for places to eat etc, something we didn’t want to do!
