First class hotel and staff. Breakfast was really good as was the restaurant . Good location in the town centre

When travelling I prefer to enjoy the place & mix with the people instead of hopping from one place to another spending hours in a car. Eating where they eat & shopping where they shop instead of “touristic” destinations. I walked around from the house to Ngarai Sianok then Jam Gadang. The weather cooperated throughout my stay, but the crowds were packed due to the town 29th anniversary celebrations. Maybe visiting during mid year instead of monsoon & peak holiday seasons will give more time to enjoy the areas. The costs are friendly to the wallet & even small food stalls around the areas are delicious & representing the traditional dishes.

Historical, sight seeing, foods and kain sulam (fabric with embroidery). About weather, Cameron Highland is 3x colder than Bukittinggi. So ... if I were to make another trip in the future, I'd rather stay longer here while Padang is just a transit.

visit Harau Valley, so beautiful and unique, Kelok Sembilan has amazing view, Ngarai Sianok has already famous, try a lot of Padang cullinary especially Sate Padang Mak Syukur and Family Restaurant at Fort De Kock, also visit Jam Gadang at night, go around a horse drawn carriage

I like shopping, local food ,the friendly locals and the places of interests with lots of greeneries. I got to try Nasi Kapau which is a bit similar to Nasi Padang. They are both delicious. I hired a a car so I got to see more places at my own time and pace and to stop for photo taking anywhere along the way. To get to places in the city is easy but if you stay further away its better to get on go jek or go car.

Service was excellent. The only downside was the room was rather old and there was a problem with the wastafel. But the staff worked on it real quick.
